Homework Actually Gives Bad Dreams

Me watching this doing everything except for homework :/
I used to try to be productive all the time and I did fairly well, but it's been weeks or even more than a month since I've managed to start my hw before 10pm, and I've had so much free time after school
But that's changing since imma start my homework at 9:46pm!! Which is actually a win for me

0:06 legit me right now. Its just college finals weeks next week been a little behind to say the least and I have work this weekend. I need this video so I can ignore it and watch tiktok anyway.

As a Civil Engineering tutor, working for more than 6 years online, I still remeber my student life struggle. I had the same issues but in my case, starting early was the clear winning strategy.

None worked for me...

I have discipline. Not that kind of… discipline. But once I get started and engaged it’s really hard for me to get distracted which is a good thing! It’s just that… I can’t. I value authenticity and meaning so the type of assignments/work(especially math) really depends whether I want to do it or not.(I’m picky which is a bad thing). The verdict is that I can’t get started a.k.a motivation or metaphorically, I can’t jump start my car before going on a 500 kilometer road trip.

I appreciate your advices, most of them sound feasable but I don't think setting the timer ⏲️ will create any pressure, at least for me, because internal pressure like that hard to put into practice for most people who are already procrastinated. In my opinion, it will be better if you can organize which methods to apply first and how some of them might not work.

The thing with my college is that fixed assignments are almost never a thing. Usually its flexible assignment which takes hours to do if im trying to make it good

I'm like 30% in my masters program still struggling time to start my assignments on time since grade school but I'm getting As and on the deans list. Just believe you can do your best under constrained time if you begin and fall into your flow state. the mental pressure of stress and worry is optional but wont help. its also better to finish not at your best than to not finish at all. when you look back you wont think about how bad your performance was rather you'll see you pushed through and got it done and now you have whats available to you from completing it. don't over think the quality of your work but that you met the required markers at the bare minimum. remember most don't do the bare minimum so realize how valuable and rare the bare minimum is.
