WATCH: 5 things we learned from Gates, Groff Epstein testimony
Video Overview & Insights
The House Oversight Committee on Tuesday released transcripts of closed-door interviews with Bill Gates and Lesley Groff as part of its investigation into convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The interviews of Groff, Epstein’s longtime assistant, and Gates took place on June 9th and 10th.
Gates, who has not been accused of any crimes in relation to the inquiry, said he knew Epstein had been convicted of a sexually-related offense, but stated he was “so focused on the possibility of raising funds for global health that I allowed that goal to override my better judgment.”
PBS News’ Justice Correspondent Ali Rogin breaks down 5 things we learned from the two depositions.
