Back then they'd joke about the virtual boy, and now they want us to pay $100 for a plastic replica that requires a $340 console at minimum, and a online subscription for $40 a year. And for games that cause eye pain. I miss pre-2025 nintendo.

@MylanGamingThe real joke was how would Nintendo get around to develop a way to archive their Virtual Boy game library on their Nintendo Classics servers on the Nintendo Switch. And then they made the Nintendo Switch 2, which was the punchline to the joke. And it’s working, if you consider the fact that the eventual reveal on Nintendo’s official website and YouTube channel was probably Nintendo’s way of saying “Hey, we are aware that the Virtual Boy is a thing we made that yes, it didn’t take off as well as we thought it would in the nineties, but for the fans of the console who wanted to play these games again, here you go.”
