Ok, this is a comparison for upper middle class.... this is not a comparison for the poor and struggling. Notice his "domestic help" is cheap.... that's what it's like being poor in India, no way out of being poor except coming to America..... that's the part he's not telling you. In India, it is much more stressful to be poor than in America. In America you still have opportunity and welfare if you are poor. You don't have the same infrastructure or means of transportation and everywhere is over crowded and India is full of filth and garbage. So, if you're a middle to upper class individual in India, this video may fit for you if you like having slave labor "domestic help" and living in a city full of garbage, hey, it's only 1/3rd the cost right? And your real "cost of living" is lower?

I do not know what class of people he is representing when he calculates cost of living in India? way above upper middle class I guess or keeping Gurgaon or Mumbai as the only benchmark cities. But for other big cities like B'lore or Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, Chennai, this is way to high if it is lesser than upper class. Per month CAR expenses- 20000 INR - 30000 INR why? I understand Rent is a factor I do not have to pay rent but yes with Rent , it should be within 120K INR per month and without Rent maybe 80K INR per month. Thoughts anyone?

Electricity cut in summer.
Doctors appointment waiting in India after taking appointments you normally have to wait for an hour or more as first come first serve basis.
Can’t walk on street as beggars and street vendors are taken over or footpaths not available.
Can’t drive safe as people don’t follow traffic rules.
Traffic Police not good.
And many government agencies have broken system.
There are hell lot of problems in India but in west these daily life problems are not there so you have more time and less stress.
Road accidents and rich gets out with no punishment with just on page essays.
You are not putting all facts.

I’ve built a life in the U.S. that truly suits me-career stability, independence, good friends, clean environment, greenery, safety, healthy lifestyle, and better opportunities for my family. Yes, being away from immediate family is the hardest part, but even if I lived in India, cultural realities mean I likely still wouldn’t be with my parents daily. Instead, we now spend meaningful longer stretches together. India will always be home in my heart, but for my lifestyle, values, and as a woman seeking safety, respect, and quality of life, the U.S. feels like the better fit. There’s no universal right answer it’s about where you can create the life that feels right for you.

Bro You haven’t taken into account something called PPP ratio . I too live in USA what is the cost of Dhania and Pudina in USA? Same is dirt cheap . As far as AQI is concerned 85% of USA is Great but there are many places which hit AQI of 250 also . Not whole of India is polluted. If India has Population growth,Traffic and other issues why should we be apologetic about it just like Its too damn Hot in Middle East (I have lived and operated Companies) they don’t care about the Hot weather . If one has enough to eat, Live in a decent place in India, And have income and passive Income one is well off. But again like you addressed , I would say TO EACH HIS OWN . You missed out FUNERAL COST in USA, it’s anywhere from $10000 to $25000 . It’s a big Industry here unlike India

@vikramrchari7303the rate of SCAMS and FRAUD in india (and asia actually) is overwhelming. i always encountered a lot of bait and switch schemes everywhere. even my own family members looked to scam me over and over. i then hired a tour guide and he tried the same. every single second you have to watch your back. and the police are of no help. at least in america, you cannot bribe police. the quality of life in america is superior to india. i didn't even get into the health side such as food prep at all restaurants and on and on. i would choose a western country over india if i were in indian and just visit back home for nostalgia but to live there is not worth it unless you are very wealthy and can afford a western lifestyle...

@sanjaynatekar8186Secondly, if you earn Annually approx 18 to 20 lacs in India you can live a good life but earning 1 lacs dollars per annum I.e. Rs.90 lacs then you are a poor / very low middle class guy. Such high is the cost of living in USA vis a vis India
@sanjaynatekar8186One biggest mistake of this video. Compare city like NewYork with Bombay / Bangalore. He has shown correct rent for metro city in India but for similar metro city rental it's 4000 to 5000 dollars per month not 2000 to 3000 dollars as shown by him. This itself makes USA much costlier

America has much better social, emotional and friendship support than India.
Indian relationships are selfish, individual or economic gratification based American are selfless……. And community well being based….
Indian relationships are based on genetics…. Family and geography…. Neighbors.
American relationships are based on a participatory shared activity…… sports, performing arts, politics, philanthropic causes.. etc. and shared mutual interest. Everyone has support through these….. shared activities and mutual interest…. Each has an association, a news letter, conferences, periodic meetings…… and that’s where much more powerful bonding and support system develops….. naturally
Wherever you live, do what suits the best. Be in charge of your own affairs. Be happy, be healthy, be free. Anything that curbs these things is not good.

If we take 6000usd per month thats almost 5.5 lakh Rupees to 1.70 lakh in exoenses in India.
Your expenses in India numbers are of the heighest side in tire 1 cities not Average of India where 80%plus population still lives in below tire 1 cities.
Cost of living in usa or any western countries are almost same except the rent.
In usa you can be living in any states or cities your basic cost remain the same.
In India it makes sea change from city to city to areas.
Informative ….. but big problem in basic …. You never talked about converted ammount of usd to inr at end of every comparison…. This could have made your video much more engaging…. Its informative but non connecting

@prasanjeetmridha793(1) In US as a software programmer you can afford to purchase a bungalow (4 bedroom, 3 bathroom) and a lawn ranging from 0.25 to 2 acre.
Doing the same in India is almost impossible for IT worker.
(2) Work from home is acceptable. In India this option is very rarely available.
(3) Commuting is way easier compared to India.
(4) People on roads are a lot civil in US as compared to India.
(5) American women have less attitude as compared to Indian women. There are cases where American women earn more than men. In India
it is very rare. A unemployed woman expects a potential husband who will earn Rs 50 Lakhs.
(6) No gender biased laws in US. India is full of them.
(7) A man can date a woman and not go forward with marriage if it is found that there views are not aligned. In India men may be booked
for rape(sex on pretext of marriage)
(8) No lifelong alimony in most states of US if marriage is less than 10 years and no kids are involved. In India even for a single day
of marriage men should expect to pay lifelong maintenance.
(9) Managers in India have lot of ego as compared to managers in US.

@manan6166It is true that with passage of time gaps between India and USA/West in terms of per capita income in PPP terms is narrowing down and beyond doubts India has a great future.
@SandeepKumar-b4z3jFamily , belonging, community, warmth, emotions are things of the past. Only few lucky ones get these things in India now. I feel no social support and sense of community here.
