Ultra Easy Healthy Meals | But Cheaper
Video Overview & Insights
That's right folks... making healthy food at home can be cheap, easy, and obviously also beautifully delicious. The real goal here is just using some very basic technique and you'll have arguably one of the best feel-good homemade meals of your life.
I think the toast is doing a lot of work on the shakshuka having made it before. I’d rather just make eggs with a side of cooked vegetables or something. Cut out the crushed tomatoes which just overpower the rest of the dish.

5 years later, 1 lb of ground chicken is no longer 2.50 (unless you buy in bulk). it now costs around 6 dollars for 1lb of ground chicken.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Ingredients you'll need:
I’m officially smarter than I was five minutes ago.
Shakshuka-
28 oz Can crushed tomatoes
Hello from the UK - you pronounce it 'Wuh-ster' Sauce
3 tablespoons (42g) butter
1 bell pepper
Oh my god somebody else who admits to not knowing the months in order THANK YOU
1 onion
4 cloves garlic
U might have a bad memory, and not know the months in order, but don’t feel bad. I have a friend who is WAY too old to not know how to read, but he still doesn’t-
Btw js to help u, the months in order are:
January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December.
😃😃😃
6 eggs
1tsp ground 2g cumin
I’m in awe of how clearly you explained this!
1 teaspoon 2g sweet paprika
1/2 teaspoon (1g) cayenne
If all videos were like this, I’d be dangerous.
Salt pepper to taste
Optional cilantro for garnish
This video deserves an award!
Whole grain toast for serving
Peanut Pork-
your balls are like a small appetizer
1lb pork cut into 1/2 inch pieces (3.50)
2 (28g) tablespoons neutral-tasting oil
I can’t stop talking about how good this is!
1 bunch green onion, sliced
1 Fresno or serrano chili, finely chopped
This tutorial hit me with knowledge like a plot twist.
4 celery ribs, diced
1/3 cup 55g roasted peanuts
Look delicious, but quite high cholesterol with all that cheese, mayonnaise, sauces etc.
1/4 cup (60ml) soy sauce
2 tablespoons (30ml) rice vinegar
For people who want to eat kale but don't like it raw (idk man, I've never tried it any other way then cooked/boiled): here's a classic dutch recipe on the cheap (we call it boerenkool stamppot, idk what that would be in english tbh):
you need:
- about 400 grams (3 2/3 cups) of kale, roughly chopped (idk pieces of about 1-2 cm / 1/2-2 inches?) or just buy it chopped if they have it, way easier
- about 1 kg (2.2 pounds) of potatoes, preferably ones that are a littl crumbly when cooked. Chop them into large pieces (it really doesn't matter as much, we're gonna make them smaller anyways)
- some yoghurt/sour cream whatever you like, about half a cup ish? just a couple table spoons, whatever you like
- some mustard (about 1 tablespoon? who measures these things anyways?)
- some bacon bits (just any small chopped piece of salty pork, i think bacon is closest to what we have)
- some (smoked) sausage & gravy if you like that
boil the potatoes for about 20 minutes and add the kale for the last 10 (boil until fully cooked, but should be roughly this)
then get rid of the water and mash the potatoes and kale together (you want to keep some smaller chunks, don't think of it as a super fine mashed potatoe kinda thing)
add your yoghurt, mustard and bacon bits and mash/ mix those through
serve with the sausage & gravy
just leave out the meat if you want it veggie & change the yoghurt for something plant-based if you want it vegan
and please don't complain about the lack of seasoning
and it's pretty cheap, especially without the meat but also with. Great winter meal in my opinion
1 teaspoon (6g) sugar
5 cloves garlic

It taste like I didn't cook enough.😊

The sauce-
I appreciate the effort here.
3/4 cup 190g ketchup
2 tablespoons 35g honey
Breakfast should have been way richer. It's just my opinion.
2 tablespoons (30ml) soy sauce
3 tablespoons (45ml) Worcestershire sauce *optional*
Love this energy.
For the balls-
1lb ground chicken
I’m impressed.
3 garlic cloves finely grated

I like your style of presentation.
1 small egg
Salt and pepper to taste
You deserve every bit of success coming your way.
