Just came back from a 2 week trip from Taiwan (Apr 2026). You are spot on! I would say the only other thing is that it is a more cash oriented country for eating at restaurants. Even restaurants that take credit cards, not unfrequently will ask for 10% usage fee (either listed as usage fee, service fee, or cleaning fee). My relatives who live there still pay in cash to avoid that 10%, which can be sizable when it is your turn to host your relatives in Taiwan.

@travgpeters1👍 Great job! Accurate depiction and information for any first time visitor to Taiwan. But I will strongly recommend don't leave your belongings unattended no matter where you are. There are illegal migrants and PRC scammers entered via third countries, also human greediness cannot be eliminated in any society.

@TheStarmannSame with Korea -- 7/11 and Family Mart (CU / 씨유) are everywhere, even in small towns, and are extremely high quality + convenient! Best Part? The products and prices are so obvious there is no need to talk, as long as the customer has currency and knows how to use it ....
