Ukraine's 33rd Separate Assault Regiment says it carried out a coordinated assault using unmanned ground vehicles and drones to capture two Russian-held positions, highlighting the growing role of robotic systems on the battlefield. Video footage shared in social media captures operation to destroy the positions. According to the unit, the operation involved remotely operated ground robots working alongside aerial drones to attack two shelters occupied by Russian forces. The regiment said the enemy positions were destroyed and the personnel inside were eliminated during the assault. The operation is an example of increasingly automated combat, with unmanned systems taking on tasks traditionally carried out by infantry.

@k_DANThat is a new type trauma. Knowing the thing that is trying to kill you can not be suppressed, has no emotions, can't be killed with bullets but rather needs to be taken out by explosives. Something tells me simple hand grenades will not work. Do you all rush it knowing some will die and climb on top to try and disable it somehow?

@jansveenCan you image four drones, two sharpshooter, one automatic Granate launcher, one anti drone - and just swamp the area with drones and when you roll over position after position you just collect the drones out of battery and out off ammunition and send them forth and the next wave and collect the next position. Don’t forget the anti drone capacity.

@PlisnensisYou look at how the Industrial age changed warfare. WW1 saw thousand of soldiers killed using 19th century tactics only to be mowed down by 20th century weaponry. Now it is tanks, artillery, battleships, etc. being destroyed by 21st century electronic weaponry. Ukraine is going to become a major military supplier once this war is over.
