Trump Threatens US-Canada-Mexico Trade ... Again
Video Overview & Insights
Trump is not learning lessons. He is once again threatening to rip up supply chains in the belief that others are stupid enough to believe him. Yet another bluff which Trump will have to ultimately back down on. When will he realise that nobody is falling for his childish bluffs?
All he can do is threaten now. He's impotent as hell.
All his blather about Canada existing at US mercy is utter bullshit; the shoe is on the other foot.

U-S-M-C-A is such a stupid name. I like CUSMA, as many call it, better, says the same in a much more elegant way. But oh no, cant have that, the US after all MUST be first.

Everyone is missing the point. Trump's tactics aren't about making the US stronger short-term, they are about making other countries weaker. He knows that, because the US has several structural advantages, they can absorb more damage than pretty much all of their competitors. It's the same as when a large company reduces their prices so much that smaller competitors go bust, because they can't survive the losses for as long. Trump believes that he can weaken his competitors enough to force them into more preferable terms for the US. Obviously, a lot of competitors will look for more preferable terms elsewhere, but this is a lot more difficult for Mexico and Canada, in the same way that the UK can't replace European trade elsewhere.
@NeofolisI can tell you: Carney is not feeling any pressure.
@SamuelQuoVadisTrump and his friends are disaster speculators. They buy or sell, Trump announces something drastic, the market goes crazy, Trump and co. buy or sell with a big profit. Trump makes a TACO and laughs all the way to the bank..
@Piotr_Kabrahyou dont negotiate with a child. That should be european policie on trump
@JamylliaWhy the Canadians give the Yanks a discount on their oil is beyond my comprehension. Canada and Mexico should just drag out the negotiations for the next two and a half years. That should really annoy and frustrate the Orange Windbag.
@harrylyme2913You are pronouncing it wrong; it's CUSMA. You are welcome!
@MattMadd-f2eGo on Trump damage the US economy even more before the midterms👍
@John_Stelz78I think he is just acting out because things have been going very poorly for him. He just had his name removed from the Kennedy Center, and the preview of how people will be celebrating after he goes probably isn't sitting well. The Iranians are making noises about the timeframe of the signing of his irrelevant memorandum of understanding - the two sides don't even seem to be describing the same document and Netanyahu has stated he is having nothing to do with it. And then the forecast for his Sunday UFC event is for storms. Spite probably describes his motivations better than any kind of real logic, and looking like he is doing something seems to matter more to him than actually doing anything. I don't expect anything to come of this latest round of trade threats.
@AlcanoxTrump is like the kid toy Jack-in-the-box only it's not Jack, its Trump. Every day he winds up for some special tweet aka noise, and pops out a new threat. How long before his wind up spring breaks? Please universe, please, end this torture.
@WiscotacCanadian here, we're so freakin done. I hope he'll pull out of CUSMA, and just set us, Canada and Mexico, FREE. FDJT
@lizrock1442Boycott US made auto,
Many companies have Canadian built cars. Check the vin #.
🇨🇦 small acts of solidarity many times
🇨🇦 Forever Canada
🇨🇦 Never 51
It's just Trump desperately trying to invent negotiating points for the CUSMA talks.
@TheDastardlyDickThe US economy is a disaster!!! They barely make anything, and rely mainly on the military industrial complex and AI . The entire AI in the US is a bubble 💭 that is going to explode very soon. This shall cause a major depression upon the US citizens!!!!
@Abieso-h7qThe man's a moron and he backs the super rich inbreed classes who want to hold out their hand for money without doing anything for it because they're the rich people and that's their right. It's a mutated form of social security that only applies to corporations and millionaires who he needs to appear to be working for or his donations dry up. Everything he does is theatre, which is what makes his war with Iran even more disgusting than it already was.
@obi-ronHe looks just like his Spitting Image puppet in that picture 😂
@davediesel90You are a bit to negative about trump doing nothing right.
He has done it a lot easier to be a top class leader of a country.
You just do the 100% opposite of what Trump does.
It's just becoming boring. Trump sabotages his own economy to spite made0up enemies. It's too bad that the yanks are too lazy and apathetic to say enough is enough.
@legojennDoes he still think he gets the Money ,Ah Silly boy
@markoconnell2458Trump's brain is like a magic 8 ball
he shakes it and then he stitches together whatever very few words/arguments come up at any given time
Well punching his own face seems to be a speciality of the Mango Mussolini. Especially since his brain is deteriorating daily.
@habi0187Withdrawing from the USMCA would be as dumb as Brexit, but fortunately harder.
@davidstewart1153Without the morons behind him, Trump would have been in a mental health institution, long time ago. It is them who keep this madness alive.
@jayjayaseelan7441Trump's insane provocations are smoke screens to deflect people's attention from the US economy and his refusal to comply with the Epstein Transparency Act. Though he also pulls these stunts to manipulate the financial markets.
@BewareOfDarknesssUsa no thanks
@Plum3303The Orange Trumpet needs to go. When will the 25th amendment be called.
@MajiSylvamainMany thanks for this Phil. Strange times indeed.
@kevins6764The Canadians are laughing at Trump and Carney runs rings round him and he doesn't even realise its happening.
@JosephOConnor-f9yWorld economics are very complex, no doubt. I wonder if a similar mechanism as the North American trade balance is in effect after brexit between the UK and the EU. In other words brexit was and is impossible? It's just simply not viable?
@emmanueldupont8713Let them cut off food exports to the US for a month. Then see what he says.
@kevinbickerstaff4279what if canada just says no to extending the deal? What's trump gonna say ?
@johnjanssens8998A tariff is always paid by the importer/consumers! In this case US consumers!
@tarquinmerryweather4929Takes his name of the Kennedy centre.. spits dummy out...
@andrewbennett899600:37 'I think a lot of American businesses would shit a brick'?
No they don't. They are mostly owned by Trump Inc (and friends) or Elon.X (which is basically the same thing). And they are not building or expanding; they are diminishing and 'taking control' (remember that slogan?).
That means: Grabbing it; Wringing the profit from it; Get richer and f*.k the consequences and anybody else.
Let's cheer Iran for the Fifa worldcup. I know I'm Dutch and should support the Orange Team but 'Orange' is currently not the best colour to support, I think. I would be so funny if Iran won the World cup!
Emperor Donny is getting worse. He'll need a medical every hour to confirm his 1brain cell still functions!
Canada exports a lot of oil and lumber to USA.
Trump is a gambler.
When he owned casinos, they went bust!
He's an economic IDIOT.
US citizens: Time to begin the removal process and let Strictly Come Dancing use the ballroom for free!
Donny: Release the Epstein Files!
I mean, if he wanted to do better for manufacturing he would quit policies that destroy jobs. He would also embrace the Keynesian idea of a neutral currency. Why a neutral currency? To escape the reserve currency / deficit economy trap. Not only that but if he was smart enough to do that he'd probably go down in history as the guy who neutered any Chinese threat. Why? Because that same currency would also punish surplus economies like China. The currency is neutral and seeks to balance all against the other and, best of all, eliminate the billionaire friend IMF. so it would be friendlier to small, emerging, economies. Imagine an Africa which is rebalanced to keep them moving forward. Imagine China having to rebalance or end up losing more and more money to interest.
No Direct Use: Central banks would hold the default trade currency in accounts, while everyday citizens and businesses would continue to use their own national currencies.
Symmetrical Rebalancing: Both deficit and surplus countries were heavily incentivized to keep their bancor balances close to zero. If a nation ran a persistent trade surplus, it would be charged interest, forcing it to spend, invest, or increase imports
Well, he might be thinking to do the same as us, Brexit was also a great slap in the face, maybe he is more stupid
@WinstonMelbourne-vt2vtIf Wall Street investors were rational, the impact of AI would be greatly reduced.
@erict.watson2460This is all part of the World Cup spirit that Trump is embracing.
@heckmacbuffVery regrettably, there has been a recent incident of a country withdrawing from a wide ranging agreement and inflicting massive economic damage on itself. By some reports we are £200bn per annum in the hole now.
@richardwilliams7692Trump's approach to anything that he hasn't signed himself, especially when it's been done by a highly intelligent coloured person https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcRAWA4nN3U
@breamoreboyYes, negotiating with Trump is like negotiating with a two year-old so what we need is a naughty step.
@Thorkil9I'm Canadian. This last year has been very entertaining. Between Trump, the way the MAGAs deny what's happening to them, the begging us to buy their products, the "we'll be here when you're ready to come back" from their tourist industry(like it's our fault), makes my determination to do my bit for the boycott stronger.
@wfcoaker1398Trump sadly lives by this maxim which is also usually used as a definition of insanity.
'Tis a lesson you should heed,Try, try again; If at first you don't succeed,Try, try again; Then your courage should appear,For, if you will persevere,You will conquer, never fear.
If Mexico is trading so successfully with America, why is it that there is so much poverty in Mexico?
@JustSayinManTACO is destroying the USA and has made the whole place a laughing-stock to the rest of the world.
@stephaniewilson3955Watch Trump tearing the deal up anyways, even though it's not legally possible. I'm wondering more about what happens then, than I'm wondering about if Trump will break the law.
