Why are lawyers that are known to lie and be corrupt.. why are they still allowed to practice? Isn't the point of having a license is to make sure everyone in the profession meets a minimal standard?

The feds don’t typically lose court cases. They tend to have their ducks in a row when presenting a case. They only present cases they are sure are solid. Or at least they use to.

Someone needs to look into the 20+ dismissed indictments, 5 deferred prosecution agreements, 1 jury acquittal, 1 plea deal , and remaining "pending" cases that were charged during Operation Midway Blitz. The charges in ALL of these cases were BS. The criminal activity occurring in Cook Co/Chicago during that siege was committed by DHS agents. The disruption, expense, and anxiety caused by this prosecutor's office was immense and inexcusable.

I truly hope the judiciary keeps up this level of skepticism in the future regardless of who is in office. I know there is a lore about how the DoJ and US Attorneys are ethical and above reproach but there have been enough cases of the government (controlled by both parties) going after people for the wrong reasons to further a political agenda. Granted no where near this level but I still hope judges and grand juries hold in check the executive branch. I guess what I’m saying is I hope our federal government holds strong on the system of checks and balances beyond Trumps administration. Congress is a joke and has been for nearly 30 years. Their endless bickering gets us nowhere so they aren’t really holding anyone accountable. I truly wish we could reform Congress but that is a whole other discussion.

I have seen in courtrooms where a judge simply says, "Bailiff, take the defendant into custody", when someone refuses to answer or acts in contempt. That's a Judge's job. And away they go. That's the Bailiff's job. Pretty much a straight forward operation. And an Attorney refusing a oath of truth? American Bar Association, wanna run with this one?
