I've lived and worked abroad in three EU countries. In all of them I had to get my paperwork in order before entering the country. There was no 'adjustment if status'. Trump's policy is standard. Using it in the US will cut down drastically on fraud and will save huge amounts of money and effort, as well as allowing us further to control our border and our sovereignty.

I'm always shocked at how clueless people are about immigration laws in other countries... They act like America is the big bad country and it's easy to get into other countries and start working there. It is not. And just like trying to get into America you have to do it from your home country! And other countries don't have birthright citizenship either.

back and forth 25 years and never overstayed. worried that my mother is going to get older and cant see her often and may get there when she is very old. sad for ppl doing things the right way. getting visa denied to visit when you been visiting 25 years now. its better they say listen we will grant the visiting visa with a gps tracker installled so you can visit and come back in 6 months or less , if you overstay we will take it away and deny you etc. The govt does not feed the visitors when they come they stay with family and they are responsible case close - why deny ppl and seek no way to allow them. if its even to have them pay for producing the gps visa. smh.
