Trading Crude Oil & Natural Gas on MCX

Video Overview & Insights

Want to trade crude oil and natural gas but not sure where to start? In this video, Karthik Rangappa makes it super easy to understand! He dives into the different contracts on MCX, what really moves prices, how inventory data plays a role, and even talks about if crude oil and natural gas are connected. Plus, he shares tips on technical analysis and smart ways to trade using spreads. If you're curious about energy trading, this one’s packed with insights!

Nice VDO, Thanks Sirji. I have a small question. If I want to start trading natural gas mini on mcx, which chart should I refer? I know there exists a global chart for Natural gas, which we should refer for technical analysis and view building. But for actual trading of natural gas on MCX which chart should be referred? I need a spot chart plese. Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Thank you for such a insightful video!

My question is at 13:55 minutes ,you showed us the spread example, but when I tried to place the order that way via sensibull or zerodha it's only allows to execute one order at a time because of two different types of futures ( one is crude oil and other is crude oil mini). So kindly share how to place the order to take margin benefit.

Best Regards

hey karthik,

request ur team to introduce
1) bracket order for fno( ie while when we place a buy or sell order we can place SL nd target)

some advanced features like , as default if i put 50 points as SL.
when i place a bracket order with market price, the SL and target would be fetched automatically..

2) to help retailers you have introduced kill switch.
make it automatical..for eg. if i place 1k as my daily SL/TARGET.
IF I TAKE A trade a loss/profit booked is above 1K
kill switch will get activated automatically.
this will reduce overtrading 90% of a trader.

If u could really want to help retail traders .
introduce the above features

1. at 1:59 you told options are not available on crudeoil mini ; but there are options on it

2. Rollover costs are too high for NATGAS right ?

At 10:49 PM on 25-04-2025 (Expiry for FUT of NATURALGAS APR)

NATURALGAS APR FUT - 248.9

NATURALGAS MAY FUT - 265.5

So rollover cost β†’ 16.6*1250 = 20750

It is 6.6% of contact value (248.9*1250)

Where as in NIFTY considering -170 basis

So rollover cost β†’ 170*75 = 12750

It is just 0.7% of the contact value (24000 * 75)

So it is too costly to rollover right ??
