Hi Lena, can I file the cost (out of my pocket) of having a new roof put on my home in 2025, which bad storms with extremely high winds had caused my roof to start leaking in a few different areas on the roof. My homeowners insurance didn't want to pay, so they classified it as maintenance and denied my claim. I had to pay $7,800.00 to have a new roof put on my house. I am a single homeowner. Can I count that anywhere on my 2025 taxes? Thank you!
