As far as salary goes for a SOC analyst, it easily goes upwards of $160k for a tier 3 analyst. Also, it’s pronounced “sock” 😅

I know pentesters only making 65k USD

Im definitely someone who wants to Enter GRC after I graduate. I NEED TO BE ABOVE 100k tho. I currently make 100k and dont want to take a step back.

I'm taking course at community college for cybersecurity at age 52. I'm making 130K delivering mail but with OT, my base pay is 78K I hope when I'm done with school, entry level pay will go up! I'll retire 2029 as a Mailman

I have been an Information Security Analyst for almost 6 years and I love how you put that we can be called on to do just about anything and really have to be jack of all trades, master at least a few, and NEVER STOP LEARNING

one question is that for us outside of us,and maybe in locations/countries budget isnt the best to even consider investing cybersecurity.so we may not have companies and payouts could still be low due to a countired bad economy.about the remote nature of cybersecuirty,i know companies would prefer to hire people from their own countries in the first place and then about the nature of the stuff cybersec people have to protect insie the company.Because it would be better to be employed first.So what could someone do in this situation is it like realistic to have hopes to aim to land a remote cybersec job on another country instead of moving there compeltely?And your opinion on cybersec startups?this could be advantageous on countries where cybersec activity isnt yet big but yet to come so the early ones can really drive the space up.

There simply are NO entry level Cybersecurity career, All IT jobs want people with 2-3 years expereince even for what you would call an "entry level" job

Would love to see a video on how to actually reach hiring managers. With hundreds of people applying, how do you even get a call back? I feel like most companies aren't posting their openings publicly - Glassdoor, LinkedIn, and Indeed makes you a needle in the haystack. How do you get around this and actually reach a human? How do you find openings outside of these platforms.

I concur, I got hired last year in Texas as a cyber security analyst. Started at 70k in GRC and we are truly the jack of all trades.
