what do you guys think?:

I found interest in tech at 13 when my IT teacher showed us freecodecamp (new to me at that time sorry 😭). that's when I went into software engineering (mainly cuz of Jawed Karim and the desire to get rich :/) but found out it's hard 😬

so I switched to cybersecurity cuz it's easier and the main thingβ€” my interest in IT

but rn I wanna know where to start, how to do it all for no cost, and what role in cybersecurity is more apt for me. (is it red team?, blue team?, purple team(hybrid of red and blue team), etc.) thank you.

Sandra happy to see your valuable video. I have the basic knowledge about penetration testing. I have completed the TryHackMe Jr. penetration testing path and gained knowledge about offensive penetration testing. With this knowledge, can I get an assistant job with any senior hacker or penetration tester?

Remember y'all, you aren't getting hired in a job in IT. Try doing a computer job first in anything and get the Comptia A+ cert once with money saved up.

I have been an Information Security Analyst for almost 6 years and I love how you put that we can be called on to do just about anything and really have to be jack of all trades, master at least a few, and NEVER STOP LEARNING

@russjkerr

$65 to $85 that's not a lot in these day 😒

@justlovetravO

one question is that for us outside of us,and maybe in locations/countries budget isnt the best to even consider investing cybersecurity.so we may not have companies and payouts could still be low due to a countired bad economy.about the remote nature of cybersecuirty,i know companies would prefer to hire people from their own countries in the first place and then about the nature of the stuff cybersec people have to protect insie the company.Because it would be better to be employed first.So what could someone do in this situation is it like realistic to have hopes to aim to land a remote cybersec job on another country instead of moving there compeltely?And your opinion on cybersec startups?this could be advantageous on countries where cybersec activity isnt yet big but yet to come so the early ones can really drive the space up.

@andreaskostopoulos409

There simply are NO entry level Cybersecurity career, All IT jobs want people with 2-3 years expereince even for what you would call an "entry level" job

Hi Sandra, What's up w the mentorship program? Any updates on that?

@madhurhase8333

Would love to see a video on how to actually reach hiring managers. With hundreds of people applying, how do you even get a call back? I feel like most companies aren't posting their openings publicly - Glassdoor, LinkedIn, and Indeed makes you a needle in the haystack. How do you get around this and actually reach a human? How do you find openings outside of these platforms.

@xaiosheen
@

I concur, I got hired last year in Texas as a cyber security analyst. Started at 70k in GRC and we are truly the jack of all trades.
