How can you leave out the ending to "Field of Dreams"? Shawshank is an obvious #1.

Fox is told the Batjets autopilot was foxed, Burce used it to eject and send the jet over the water. There are stronger reasons to believe it genuinely happened than not. The whole Alfred thing was just a setup to be a nice satisfying ending.

Eraser (1996) "You have just been erased." Bad guys hit by a train, limo explodes and they're done. Epic.

How can you forget Heat 1995?!!

Fight Club's ending with "Where Is My Mind?" by the Pixies is incredible. That song was perfect for an iconic ending.

That last scene of On the Waterfront when Terry leads the workers to a swelling finale score gives me goosebumps every time.

Agree with Shawshank Number 1....The Negotiator (1998) has a really good ending and worth a mention!

OMG there are 2 ads between every single movie ending. It's unbearable

The Sting and Field of Dreams are in my Top 5, with the latter being #1.

Robocop 1987 always comes to mind for me. It's not mind blowing or life changing but it's simple and near perfect.

Robocop/Murphy regains his humanity. His reply to the Old Man when he says "Murphy" and grins was perfect . The last of the main villains gets killed in spectacular fashion. The OCP giving a thumbs up and smiling is the best. Only thing I would have changed is the bad special effects with Dick Jones' death.

Doctor Strangelove is another favorite. The pilot riding the bomb, the montage of nuclear bombs going off at the end.

How can "It's A Wonderful Life" not be on your list?! It's one of the best films and ending ever!

@FireTiger941

What about “It’s a Wonderful Life?”

@danielboyer4343

I seriously think the ending in Field of Dreams should have been mentioned, too. So many other movies have used their one liners in their movie, too

Planes Trains and Automobiles. From the gut wrenching scene at the train station to John Candy's smile, the tears change from tears of sadness to tears of joy. I don't know any other movie that has been able to do that.

The Invisible Guest

All the movies on this list that I have seen I agree are all super satisfying in their own way. There are some movies that weren’t on the list that I absolutely love. Endings that stand out to me the most though are The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, Avengers: Endgame, Shawshank Redemption, The Truman Show, Sense and Sensibility

My mom just showed me Shawshank Redemption for the first time. I had tears either in my eyes or streaming down my face for the last…10 minutes of the movie. But the “I Hope” speech….I was doing that thing where you’re wanting to cry out and just sob hysterically but you’re also completely filled with emotion and the tears are spilling out your eyes. It is such an amazing movie with one of the best movie endings I have ever seen 👏🏻😭❤️

So many good ones mentioned in comments. I have to add my satisfying movie ending, to Billy Elliott. When Billy now an adult, takes the stage to the gasps of his family it is heartwarming, satisfying and breathtaking . I have often watched the ending, just the ending!

@sallyannchappell5671

Ever heard about the movie called “the dark knight “

@avkashmenon7281

You included Predator, but no, It's a Wonderful Life? Come on...

Fight Club was awesome. But yeah, Shawshank Redemption was amazing aswell.
