RICHARD or ROBERT Ludlum? (22:10). Be careful with names, especially famous people.

I am a regular viewer of Watch Mojo and your lists, but the sheer volume of commercials in this one was so frustrating I may not continue. It was absolutely ridiculous. 1 or 2 between every entry. Let your sponsors know that advertising only works if people watch.

Nothing can top "The Spy Gone North".

Just a couple of nits:
Mentioning powerhouses but omitting James Earl Jones.
Calling out "Sir" Ben Kinsley and "Sir" Michael Caine, but omitting "Dame" Diana Rigg and "Dame" Angela Landsbury, and John le Carré's surname is pronounced "la car ray".

Manchurian Candidate is a Cold War masterpiece but is it really a spy movie? I don't think so. Is the Conversation a spy movie either? Again, No. Hunt For Red October is ruined by the casting of Sean Connery who can't and doesn't try to sound Russian--it's absurd. Bridge of Spies and 3 Days of Condor should be higher up on the list. Missing from the list are Funeral in Berlin (should be on the list); Five Fingers; Triple Cross. OK the last 2 are heavily fictionalized versions of the true stories but still they come out better than several of the Mojo picks. Falcon and Snowman another one overlooked here. Actually this Mojo list is pretty bad.

I know this movie gets a lot of s***, but I believe the Good Shepherd was...well.... Good 🤣😂🤣

Did y'all really say "You'll never see this twist coming" and then reveal the twist? I mean, I get it's an old movie but damn.

@IntheClutch75

The fact that le Carre's estate blocked Gary Oldman from playing Smiley again is an absolute travesty.

WTF? Why does WatchMojo have spoilers in this vid? No spoilers are needed, but too many given…

i discovered the ipcress file in 2025, and i found it fascinating, the best of the Palmer trilogy in my opinion

I just discovered your channel and I very much appreciate those of your videos I have seen. Your narratives are composed interestingly and move along nicely. I have learned things! However, errors and mispronunciations really undermine your credibility. The Jason Bourne book series was written by ROBERT Ludlum. John LeCarre is pronouned LeCaray. (I can’t find an accent key but the “e” has a French acute accent.) And Ralph Fiennes’ name is apparently pronounced as Rafe Fines. And the second Tinker Tailor, Soldier, Spy was never a miniseries cut down to a movie—that was the original. You will make your channel a standout of quality if you take the time to improve your content by proofreading your scripts for accuracy and learning correct pronunciations. Geez, these days it’s so easy, with AI plus writing and proofreading apps. Not to mention other videos of the people you are featuring. And you don’t want to come across as an AI! (Unless you are one, of course.)

Ipcress File is a favorite of mine from way back.

Sneakers should be higher.

Richard Ludlum??? Really?

@mvthrgffff
@

Loooooool, Mission Impossible is a spy movie Ha ha ha, that's a good one 🤣

@mihaidelea
@

The problem with Argo is they state at the start that New Zealand would not help the hostages, but in real life it was the New Zealanders that hide the the hostages before any other Embassy. THE Kiwis then convinced others to help them. Ben Affleck should be ashamed of himself. To date he has never ap]ologised for this, and he was the director and star.

@GrantHoffman123456

Why isn't Austin Powers International Man of Mystery not on here?

@anhurtorrez

Richard Burton the actor was never knighted.

I checked this out just to see if "Sneakers" was on the list. I understand why it was first (i.e., last) on the list. But it's there; thank you.

@Flegetanis

All great movies....."The Lives of Others" is incredible, and chilling. As mentioned, still pertinent today, if we look at a few so-called "democracies".

@tx3851

3 Days of The Condor is great

@InternationalScoutIIHarvester
@

Any supposed greatest list of spy movies that has On Her Majesty's Secret Service in that list begs not to be taken seriously, especially as Casino Royale isn't on the list. Ridiculous nonsense and btw Three Days of the Condor is the greatest spy movie and not the 17th greatest.

@TorqTorq-r7w

No mention of Mark Rylance, criminal !

2:46 what a shitty spoiler!!!!

Truly impressed with this selection. I've seen all these films and I think your spread of serious with fun and blockbuster styles is spot on. Well done.

" The Spy Who Came In From The Cold " is easily the best spy movie, a complex plot for sure, Burton and Bloom are brilliant in their roles, the cinematography is outstanding, and the characters were incredibly believable!
