These 10 beaches are my favorites within Orange County....even though there are many other great beaches, I wanted to narrow it down to just 10.
I would also say these are some of the best beaches in California as well.
What you call Cave Beach is what we locals as kids in the 60's and 70's call Pirate's Cove because of the cave of course.

You missed Seal Beach - my favorite. Huntington Beach is full on MAGA Beach now, where angry people yell at you, a lot of them.

It’s a great place if you want to step in tar though.

All of these beaches are swimmable except the Wedge when the big waves hit. Grew up in San Clemente and LOVE that area.

I grew up in Orange County, about 14 miles inland from Newport Beach. We went to Newport Beach a few blocks north of the Newport pier most often, then Corona Del Mar the second most often. Corona Del Mar had lots of fire pits, so that's where we would go if we wanted to go to the beach at night, but we also went there in the daytime. There was a place called Little Corona that we liked to go to now and then, located just south of Corona Del Mar. We often camped at San Clemente State Beach, and we would take a walk along the shore on the sand down south to Richard Nixon's house. I went to Huntington Beach a few times, but really wasn't that familiar with it. I liked Newport Beach better, because it had a boardwalk and beach houses right along the boardwalk. Huntington Beach, as I remember, had a parking lot and then like a 3 foot tall brick wall, and then the sand on the other side of it the wall.

What about the sweet little town of Seal Beach just north of Huntington? Any visitors should not miss this northern most end of OC. It still looks like it did back in the day with darling shops and restaurants on Main Street as well as the wide beach and decent surf.

I live in OC for more than 20 yrs and I think LB has the most beautiful and wavy beaches. LB is more European.

We go once a year for a week in either June or July. It’s easily my favorite place to be. Since my family is from the desert, it’s nice to go to a beach every once in a while. I can’t wait to go back this June :)

@edinadinadina8952Huntington Beach is not as safe as it may appear. There have been two major riots there in the past, it was all between white surfer dudes. Look it up. They like to fight, set cars on fire and break into stores apparently.
