It's praiseworthy that, even though you're not East Asians, you know how to hold chopsticks correctly. Many Mainland Chinese, including their older generations, don't, unlike the Japanese and Koreans who value good table manners. The Indians and Malays* in my country, Singapore, also use chopsticks correctly when eating Chinese food like Dim Sum and fishball noodles. *Malays are mostly Muslim, so they eat only halal Chinese food.

Gotta give this channel some love as we prepare to go to Japan ourselves very soon. You guys are fantastic about talking over the food. Just enough charisma without getting annoying by overplaying, and you have such a quick and concise way of giving us an idea if the place you ate is one we want to eat at too. We watched all of your videos relevant to our trip and were sad when we ran out. But I think once the trip is over I'll have just as much fun just watching you guys and noting the best places if I plan to head out to whatever cool place you guys went. Deserve my sub. Very impressed.

I've rewatched your video countless times now. I love the variety of places you visited. Question: How manageable was it to order the food? And what level of japanese is needed when ordering? I would love to know since I'll be traveling to Tokyo in a few days.

If you're obsessed about ramen, it would be respectful to at least try to learn how to properly eat it, rolling it like spaghetti I've never seen before, it ain't it 😅

Ha ha, I remember Andy's. Looks like it hasn't changed. Need to book a few days in advance to get the upstairs. My Japanese wife thinks it is foreigner food, and I would agree. Check out the crab when in season. Excellent. I also remember eating at Royal Host every lunchtime when I first moved to Japan (in 1992). I would often order parfait and it was a luxury.

If I'm paying a plane ticket to foreign country, it's to get away from what I live around. I'd love to one day visit Japan but it looks like there's too many Western faces starting to clog up the land. I guess that's too bad for me.

The Japanese service industry simply creates a comfortable space at the expense of long working hours and low wages by employees.
It's not that the company is competent.
It is often thought that Japan doesn't have to pay tips, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't.
Even if you get a tip, you just won't get one because it will be taken away by the company.
If you're impressed by a restaurant or hotel, be sure to secretly give us a tip.
That should be encouraging.
