To Hell and Back - Becoming a Navy SEAL

Video Overview & Insights

Becoming a Navy SEAL is often described as going through hell and back, a demanding journey that pushes individuals to their absolute limits, both physically and mentally. The rigorous training program is designed to select only the toughest and most resilient individuals, with a high attrition rate weeding out those who cannot meet the demands.

You think the water in San Diego can't be that cold. They aren't being hyperbolic. It's an unreal cold but you are already depleted of energy so the water sucks out water energy you have left. Heat is energy. Something that isn't brought up on here is that in buds you rely on yourself, yes, but how much you rely on other people in certain excercises will piss you off to know end. That wooden pole you see them carry, that's basic log pt and at the beginning there's always someone/'s that isn't given it their all and it makes you lose every ounce of stamina you had left to at least finish it resulting in fucking you over royally but the good news by the end you trust every single person next to you and know they are trying with all they got, just like you. You can't get any closer to someone as far as a brotherhood. It's like if you go on a class trip for a weekend and you're stuck with kids from you're school you never talked to before and by the end your exchanging numbers but multiply that by a billion because yall trauma bonded lol

It’s crazy than when you think you find a small chance of reassurance they answer back “do you wana quit?”

When I was part of the ingress team for a bike tour of 2000 riders we started at 5a.m. and went to bed about 10p.m. if we were lucky. The day consisted of walking the length of 5 football fields on uneven ground about 10x/day. Ingress team had to build a mini city for 2000 cyclists by 2p.m. The blisters on my feet were incredible, everyday new ones. I'm just saying that I know how much it hurts. Once a group of local boys rode by on a four wheeler and dumped a gunny sack at my feet. Four huge bull snakes crawled out. These kids thought it would be funny when they crawled into a cyclist's tent sleeping bag. It was my job to catch them and cut their heads off. For some reason I volunteered two more times in two years and cycled the tour 10x. Volunteer work was a lot harder than cycling. It's amazing what you can put your body thru and call it a vacation. Maybe this is why I now need two knee replacements ❤

I remember watching them train. I was 1 of 2 barbers on base. I could always tell who was there for training and wished them luck. I knew there was a high chance they wouldn't be back in my chair. Very impressive to watch them swim outta the ocean with complete gear on.

I'm assuming most of these guys now as civilians own successful businesses because to endure that kind of pain you can most likely do anything

All this time I thought hell week was the final test. Hearing that there’s even more after that is insane.

It’s incredibly sad to hear sailors die in buds training, but unfortunately, these men have to prepare for the worst war experience that any human body can ever go through and the training has to be just as brutal to allow someone the most chance to survive if their face or arm or leg is blown off or they become a prisoner or war being subjected to torture, you have to decide that I’m gonna just accept it and try to survive. That’s what this train is teaching them

I do know a guy who lives in a trailer park up on the mountain he's stayed up for 8 days no problem. He said he does it all the time. There's something he calls super ice that allows him to pull it off repeatedly.

“How come they all write books???” Because any normal human listening to them bs’ing during a normal conversation can’t fathom what they did just to get there. The barrier to entry is a life changing moment.

@THEBIGHAM1000
@

@20:00 this is some bullshit. 20 minutes underwater but you are without air for half of that? Come on? Why do Seals have to exagerate everything to make themselves look more badass. I did this and it was not that long you are without air. It may seem long but it's not. While it is challenging, you are not without air that long and not even close to drowning. Complete Navy Seals BS propaganda. If these guys fight one guy at the bar, next day you will hear the fought the entire bar blindfolded.

@terrerov

BS- a Div 1 athlete will have a 10X better chance to graduate than joe lunch bucket.

I wanna join delta, not seals but I think this is a good indicator of how hard it’s gonna be. But the main difference between this and delta is you break yourself down in felts, you fail to meet the standards, you do all the training alone. It seems mich harder mentally cuz your so alone

Could I be a SEAL? Hell No I almost drowned in the shower the other day there's no hope in hell for me. My hats off to these fearless warriors.

@wethenorth6437

Twenty minutes under WATER, half of which is without AIR…
Even a NAV SEAL would have DROWNED in TEN minutes…

🤔

@Superz3ro
@

To close and too long with cs gas lol so in combat you just hold up your hand and yell to enemy your to close with the gas ur gonna get in trouble.

You should be concerned about the test in which people die. No one has died during cs gas

@rebel9838
@

So 11 deaths in 79yrs considering what they do that is a really low number

@rebel9838

These dudes are soft. Does it suck? Sorta...other than that.. nothing else
