A bit sad that not a single one of the amazing Touhou fighters made it to the list, even in passing.

Maybe it was just my perspective, but they always felt like they were just as ubiquitous to the smaller indie/“poverty” fighters crowd as games such as Melty Blood, Gleam of Force 2, and the multitude of stuff on Kaillera/GGPO/Fightcade.

It helps that they’re some of the most unique playing 2D fighters out there, with TONS of customization options available for every character.

I’m aware that the series itself runs some people the wrong way because of the “cute anime girls” aesthetic surrounding it.
But you take one moment to open up your mind, and you immediately see “Yo, hold up, everyone in this is a massive badass in their own way”.

Not to mention the unbelievably awesome music that’s iconic to the franchise, and the fighters having some of its best arrangements of these respective themes, let alone the brand new songs for its exclusive characters, too.

Look, I dunno man, I see someone have a big list of 100+ fighting games, a guy mention that he liked anime and fighting games back in the day, and I’m seeing Literal Who games make it onto the list (let alone actual garbage like T8 and Strive), so I kind of expected at least ONE of the 2hus to get in, too. 😂

One of my Fighting Game Three Wishes is a Capcom Fighting Collection 3 which includes Alpha 2 Gold (and Rival Schools) for online play. My other two are The Last Blade 3 and Guilty Gear XX on PS5

CvS2 is the best lazy cash grab ever. They recycled almost all of the assets. There aren't many stages and none of them are related to a specific character or franchise. The music is on short loops. The arcade mode is short and the story borderline non-existent. The groove system is unbalanced.

But damn if the game isn't stupid fun.

Gr8 list. I do have some questions.

1. What’s your problem with Armageddon.

2. Capcom vs SNK 2 has swordies from the past, a platformer character, a 2v1, an air dashing Monster thing, and an Air Juggle kid. The biggest omission in my mind being World Heroes being the perfect rival to Darkstalkers being the former Street Fighter clone turned proto-Anime fighter of adaptations of misfits.

3 No hftf on the list? I guess you haven’t played it before.

4. The most underrated game not on the list is Joy Mech Fight for being a quirky NES fighter that was simple and innovative for it’s time having a training mode that teaches you special move inputs in game. Specifically Fuuma to fit with the Rival being more popular than the protagonist.

This has to be one of the best videos you've ever made! While I'm not somebody who's played nearly as much of the genre compared to you (I probably wouldn't even be able to fill a list of my Top 30 Favorite Fighting Games), I still can't help but think 'Man, I love fighting games!' while watching this entire video. I can't help but be impressed by your level of passion when discussing each game on this list, and I can't lie when I say that your channel is part of the reason why fighting games have become one of my favorite video game genres. I've barely seen (or even heard anything about) some of the games on this list before, but hearing you talk about them here is enough for me to understand what makes them interesting. I can really tell you put a lot of effort and love into making this video!

The first Capcom Vs SNK i felt was better than the second in my opinion. Also visually that was the best versions of Evil Ryu and Akuma to me. I loved Akuma's display of power. He could stand still and haze, or he would charge up after a victory.

If I was Microsoft I would be putting the money up to bring Darkstalkers back from the graveyard & then I would pay extra to lock down exclusive rights for the next upcoming Xbox but Microsoft doesn't know anything about what real gamers want 🤦🏿🤷🏿

No World Heroes in a Top 100. Why are they forgotten. It had a lot of iconic and fun characters. And a great versus mode.

WATCHED IT FINALLY.
So a little disappointed you don't have any Dissidia and the playstation All stars battle royal in your list. I understand that snk and Street Fighter were big in the 90s but there were so many of them it became redundant but it's your list so i understand. I'm glad for the Tekken representation cause tekken is my GOAT fighting game franchise and yeah just like you i LOVE Tekken 8 despite it's flaws. I will really love to see a Tekken retrospective in the future or a Guilty Gear retrospective. Build the roster for PlayStation All Stars 2 (yes i know you already made one but it was early and i would love to see a sequel of it and give it your Sega smash treatment. A hypothetical timeline that Sony made All stars and build the roster during the sony eras (ps1 all the way to ps5) and how the roster will change during those eras.) Also build the roster for a new Dissidia could be fun. Or a plattformers fighting game build the roster, or a Pokemon vs Digimon build the roster game. I just give ideas here😅
Lastly a lets make a sequel video about either Tekken 9(maybe you give Asuka her spotlight she deserves and make her rival with Reina continuing the Mishima and Kazama rivalries just saying) or a Soul Calibur 7.

Hey Thorgi, I’m not sure if anyone has requested this or suggested this idea… But what would your roster be for a hypothetical Shrek Superslam 2? I know the game has a limited fan base, but considering it has a tier list and dedicated tutorials for special moves (Like Crumpet Dashing), I think it deserves a reboot, maybe with some new characters added to the base.

Found you through your BlazBlue retrospectives which I loved and ignited an old flame, this video made me subscribe. Maybe the best “100 anything” video I’ve ever seen. Your passion for these games and their history is endearing.

If there was something I’d add, it would be the Naruto Storm games- not really competitive but in a similar way to the budokai games they are very nostalgic and fun.

Video idea, now that it’s 2026 and it’s new years, that means that we might get a new installment in the smash bros build the roster series. Last year we didn’t get one but this year, you could do a Capcom smash bros similar to the Sega smash video going through every game in the series. You could also do third party fighters due to how many crossovers Street fighter and Capcom as a whole has done
