Thank you! This is excellent! I guess I have done this accidentally sometimes in a demo track and then somehow the demo just sounds so much better than the ”real” take!

I feel like the Genre of music that you’re used to listening to really determines your taste in melodic phrasing when creating your own music. I struggle with this because hip hop and r&b, the melodies mainly land on the first beat. Also, a lot of the artists in this genre do not really practice this. It’s also harder to do when you are not the orchestrator of the production then you’re really stuck inside of a box.
@DreTrinityWhat martin guitar is this? :)
@GlobalEltorroI see, but here me out - honestly 90% of how good that sound sounds was already in the first version, phrasing did change something a little, but to an extent that its borderline just a matter of personal taste
@MaxYariLove that Voice nice and clear🔆🙏🪼⚡️
@melodynia936I love that
@CHIPYcomedyI definitely heard the difference, but I like both versions. They both felt strong in my opinion and that I can feel the song and the lyrics and loved it
@CaliAssassinAmazing voice ❤
@AlexdaSilvaMusicknowing many many ragas, melas, modes,scales do tremendously help in composing distinct melody everytime.
@brightman1398Your voice is beautiful! I would love to create melodies to sing the Psalms. Thank you.

@issasd1172Great tip!! I get it! Thank you for sharing..
@davidspringer6671The phrasing of Elton John's "Sacrifice' simply mystifies me. Of course, it's Elton John, so everything is at a higher level than most of us achieve. But the phrasing makes this song stand out. For me.
BTW--I love your song too, Keppie. Thank you.
You sound amazing I’m must say. Great teaching as-well.👌🏾
@MR.F.A.WSo good, thank you.
@WdavidgWow you're soo talented
@majorwaley3604I saw your haircut and trusted u as a musician immediately n subscribed; after you changed the phrasing, I knew I made the right choice, lol.

@jamaicanreggaehitsamazing thank you
@tylerbannksThis is hands the best song writing tip I’ve ever heard
@MikeMarciellaI’ve been writing songs for decades. Perfectly good songs, a couple of which still bring me in a little cash.
So I kinda know most of the tips on this channel by osmosis or just trial and error.
However, I am getting great value for two reasons -
I save a lot of time iterating new songs. When I feel I’ve hit a roadblock, not uncommon with me, I watch one of these and then consciously apply a technique I might have arrived at eventually, or maybe not, and chances are, I’m off to the races.
I’ve also been tweaking half a dozen songs I never released or finished all those years ago. Again, consciously applying a technique or two laid out here has really helped me fix parts of the songs I’d never been happy with or where it felt something different would be nice.
Sick to death of you post lesss
@robertwinters7144This is helpful, thanks 🙏
My problem is coming up with the melody itself.
Cos if I have a melody, I have a song.
That’s how I was able to write some of my songs!!
What is that song… love it..
@clarkjojo005Great lesson. Nice voice!
@CHIG5748I never thought about this. I don't think I could consciously engineer this unless I do it by feel.
@prschusterQuestion to random knowledgeable viewers: what other songs apply this principle? Thanks
@louiexx5637I love your singing voice Keppie!
@tomcoryellMost excellent!
@crazyeelboyThe honeycomb grid of the diffusor reflects on the pickguard. 😊
@dirk-lorenz.matthiesenTook me some time to figure this out, certainly a key tool!
@stefan86wtfThis is an actual good advice
Maybe im a bit of a slow learner (or just slow in paying attention to instructions), so i had to rewind and watch the video 3 times to understand it
But it is indeed a good basic (and by ‘basic’ i actually mean AWESOME/IMPORTANT) advice
Good job, and keep it up you guys 🫡🤗
Simply. Rhythm.
Why the hell wasn't I ever thinking of expanding my RHYTHMIC intent, with vocal melodies?!?

A guitar beginner looking to play guitar for my songs.
This was so helpful! The checklist analogy totally resonated with how I've been feeling about my melodies
@h4nnahm0ntana666Yep, phrasing is sooo important! I love syncopating, it adds a lot to the dynamics.
@yobrojoost9497I'm now a beginner and I'll need more..
@OliviaOdameI have watched hundreds of videos of music. This is the first time I was given permission to start off beat. THANK YOU!!!!
@rideshareglobalprotestthese are just cosmetics. it doesn't make an ok melody great, you need a great melody to start with.
