WHO AM I?

Very interesting

— @bustoHumplik

I have spent most of my life thinking about how to optimize productivity in pursuit of self-development. I have an undergraduate degree from Harvard University, a medical degree from the Yale School of Medicine and residency-training at a Harvard-affiliated hospital. I am now a board-certified doctor practicing in the US. This entire channel is dedicated to the art and science of learning, productivity and success. Stick with me and I promise you too will achieve your goals.

The clock featured in the video: https://amzn.to/3Rf2KKx

The 5-Domino Morning Routine:

1. Avoid the snooze button by placing your alarm clock far away.
2. High-Intensity Exercise (2:14 - 3:42): Perform 4 minutes of high-intensity activity (like push-ups or planks). This boosts your BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor) and VO2 max, priming your brain for better cognitive function.
3. Cold Shower (3:42 - 5:24): Take a 30-second cold shower to trigger an endorphin release, improve immune response, and build mental discipline.
4. The Sacred 5 (5:24 - 7:14): Spend the first 5 minutes of your workday on your most challenging task. Because your brain is already energized and your dopamine is not yet spent on distractions, this is when you are at your peak.
5. The Optimized Reset (7:14 - 13:24): Conclude the routine by focusing on three areas:
• Body: Fueling with a nutrient-dense, low-carb breakfast (e.g., vegetables and peanuts).
• Mind: Exposure to sunlight and nature to restore attention capacity.
• Spirit: Practicing gratitude to improve long-term mental health and life satisfaction.

By following this "clean morning" without digital distractions, the creator argues you can achieve more in a single day than most people do in a week.

Love this, I combined it with the paper clip casino video, and simplified my morning dominos to three smaller habits, because waking up earlier was the one habit I wanted to be more consistent with. So I wake up (no snooze) , make my bed, and do 25 squats, each one gets me a paper clip that goes into my big paper clip jar (no spinning the wheel with these iykyk). Got a good little steak going! Thanks

00:51 The Domino System

I’m not starting my day crawling under my bed. LOL And cold showers or plunges make me incredibly angry. I’m glad this works for you. Not for me.

01:06 First Domino: Waking Up

02:14 Second Domino: HIIT

Oh jeez what a load of rubbish

— @somersby64

07:14 Fifth Domino: The Optimized Reset

07:31 Manta Sleep

15 minutes? The shower alone + getting dressed afterward is a minimum of 30 minutes. And 5 minutes dedicated to something I've been procrastinating about? I can't think of anything I've been procrastinating about that could be accomplished in 5 minutes. Or 30 minutes. Or an hour.

— @herself5232

09:01 Your Body

10:01 Your Mind

My question is.. isnt the right after waking up high intensity dangerous actually? Same as fold showers? You should make your body warmed up first no?
I mean you always need to warm up a bit to not get hurt. For example 5-10 minutes at least of stretching, also blood pressure can be issue for some.

This is the most ridiculous and dangerous exercise I have ever seen! You won't be limitless, more like RIP. Everyone's blood pressure is highest right after waking up, and they are severely dehydrated. Dropping to the floor and doing high intensity exercises raises your blood pressure sky high (blow a gasket high), greatly increasing your chances for strokes and heart attacks, and because you are severely dehydrated you are begging for strokes and embolisms at that hour! Most heart attacks take place in the first hour of waking up. Go on; play with that fact and thin the gene pool a little. Fortunately this bro-culture-slop advice is so ridiculous few are that desperate to follow through on it.

Isn't different for women. Im sure women are more sensitive to cortisol and HIIT 1st thing in the morning fasted and cold shower are counterproductive.
