The title threw me and now I know why. I only see roasting and grilling being shown, no barbecue. I have been to Finland and I have never seen barbecue there except in foreign-run "American"-style establishments in Helsinki. Finnish rosvopaisti is somewhat close, but is modern and is really an earth oven (so baking). AFAIK, the closest thing to actual barbecue is savustus done with fish.

Loimulohi need only salt. Don’t put any bbq spices on it.
Also keep it moist by melted brush and melted butter. Once in a while you can brush it with cognac

Personally, I prefer salmon with just a little bit of salt & pepper. A good piece of salmon has flavor enough all by itself... But that is just my taste-buds talking 🙂.

My Houston Nephew says that Finland is barred by International Treaties from BBQing! I asked him what treaty that might be, and he said, “the Treaty of 1812 that established peace between Finland and Argentina….” I had never heard of it, but the Nephew insists that he read about it on AI……………………
