This is MONTERREY, Mexico's Huge Northern City 🇲🇽
Video Overview & Insights
I visit Monterrey in Nuevo Leon, northern Mexico. Just a couple of hours drive from the US border, Monterrey is one of Mexico's largest cities - surrounded by its iconic mountains.

All those people selling goods on the sidewalk is testament that the Aztec way of life is still there. What are their daily sales?

I have a friend who's from Monterrey, she said it's a very friendly and welcoming city, but it does not bend over backwards for tourists, because unlike some cities in Mexico, Monterrey doesn't need to rely on tourism for its survival.

Texas grocery chain (HEB) is here, evidently - I saw the name flash in the background!
@ernestguzman4962That city was founded by Crypto Jews and Conversos, many of the population are descendants of Jews.

@kartikaynigam2346Do anybody knows the location of the AIR B and B ?
@Takosu-gf6ozMonterrey was founded by the Spanish 1769 by Gaspar de Portolá.
@br2431Hey. The lady with you looks so hot. You should treat her nicer.
@temowakeman5043As a european it was such a weird place to visit. Im not sure since i have never been to the usa. But id imagine this is very similar to the usa. Feels like you have to go everywhere by car. And idk all the houses are like the same in comunities and the city in general is just huge. Idk i cant explain it. But its a very weird feeling haha, its soo different to europe.
@maxime_vhwYou said it is not a touristic city, and instead of going and showing beautiful places you visited the poorest zone, full of markets where they adore the “saint” dead and sell brujería; tourists wouldn’t go to that place 👎🏻
@jtmedina243510:26 funny moment on the background 😂
@AmadorgleekWelcome to my birth city
@roxydiaz1Is there a viewpoint to go to in the mountains?
@michaelhoran407My parents (who came from Mexico) always say this city is super dangerous, but the various perspectives I've seen online tell a different story. I'm certain there's areas you need to avoid, but that's true of my own city here in the US. I'd love to visit Monterrey some day.
@hex1233My dad and my dad's family live there😅
@Isaac-l7n9vBro went to the main attractions for tourist 🤣🤣 We needa send @hoodvlogs over there to la indepe and la chinameka 💯 iykyk and there’s dozens of more hoods that are not that friendly.
@2DeadGioThese are not penises, they’re cats..😂 just made me laugh. My friend recently moved here and loved your video. A place I didn’t know anything about but definitely has a lot going for it. Loved the regeneration and how they used some of the old industrial sites.. very clever.
@MatNewtonTrioNO A LA GENTRIFICACIÓN DE MEXICO
@maltratarNext time you go to Monterrey, show the nice side. You stayed in the low income areas. Nothing to see there
@Elbena23One of the most dangerous places on earth, last week three Americans were robbed at gunpoint.
@engledelaffety4380Monterrey's names "The Sultan of the North" "The City Of The Mountains"
@lediffzitro7902I'm from Monterrey. Happy you enjoyed the city. There's more to know outside the city (40min-1.20hrs) Here my options: grutas de garcía, huasteca, cola de caballo, bustamante (grutas y ojo de agua). Hidalgo (potrero chico, great if you like to climb). And chipinque is a good options to do excercise and enjoy a good look of the city.
@rosaelvarios4956Looks like a great city

@josephbonilla5910I hate that "magic" area in the Center of Monterrey, lot of Black magic and bad things , but you can find fruits and vegetables in a good price
@instant-happiness1404Do not go to Monterrey, this city is on the verge of becoming the new Juarez, is now under the control of crime syndicates, kidnappings and murders are on the rise, look it up

@Valay.Que buena toma del cerro de las mitras .. what a great view of the mountain 4:19
@adrictc88My family from both my parents side are from the mountains in Monterrey. Last time I visited when I was like six years old, mountain people had cement houses, out houses and store shops in some of the houses called puestos, that were anywhere from convenience stores to meat markets or sandwich shops that sold tortas. I also remember the local shaman woman named Mariquita who cleansed our souls with incense, holy water and whole eggs used to absorb bad energy by rubbing them on you. The streets were underdeveloped and steep and rocky, and people slept on the roof during hot weather which was often constructed as a balcony roof. At night I could remember seeing the lights of the center of the Monterrey city.
