The Winning Blackjack Basic Strategy

Video Overview & Insights

If you’ve ever sat at a blackjack table unsure of your next move, this video is for you. The key to beating blackjack starts with mastering basic strategy. Without it, you don’t stand a chance against the casino’s edge.

I wonder how many casino organizations are funding this

It’s cute education, perhaps even fun

There’s no Money here

— @ComfortsSpecter

In this video, Colin from Blackjack Apprenticeship breaks down what basic strategy is, where it originates, and why not all basic strategy charts are the same. With professional experience playing blackjack and leading teams that have collectively won around $4 million from casinos, Colin shares invaluable insights into the game.

Basic Strategy Charts:

So question. The basic strategy says to only split 4s on 5s and 6s if DD is allowed. So why do I see a lot of really experienced players split them on 3s? Does the basic strategy ever evolve? Has it ever been updated?

Card-counting represents blatant FRAUD! The fraudulent process has been going on for decades. The validity of card counting, of all counting systems, has been based on simulations only. And, all simulations, or sims, in their jargon, have always shown wins and only wins for each and every system, for every number of trials (bj hands, rounds)!

Wouldn't it be a miracle?! However, each and every blackjack counter has suffered losses several times in their careers. Even the most notorious card counters described losing experiences, even painful ones! Read "The Candor of Famous Blackjack Card Counters".

There is also the risk of ruin for every gambler. There is no such a risk for the casinos. No gambler can ever ruin the casinos! Some might go out of business, but the collective casino is eternal. You've never seen a sim resulting in ruin. No YouTube video has ever shown a loss, let alone a case of ruin. "Just win, baby, win!"

Every honest simulation app will sometimes show loss, even ruin, for any counting system. That's mathematics, for normal, honest humans. Yet, our cheating (fraudulent) vendors have always shown us only wins, no matter the BJ counting system! "But I just lost lots of money," many a player has complained. The crooks have always employed another trick. The LONG-RUN! A counting system can be validated only in hundreds of billions of trials (blackjack hands, rounds). Yes, they believe they can live that long… 100,000+ years! They hide behind such humongous number of trials because the today's computers cannot handle such tests in reasonable amounts of time.

It doesn't matter the number of trials, however. There will be winning sims, and there will be losing sims. No matter how many simulations and trials, the results will be close to 50-50. But there will be more losing sims than winning situations. Most likely 51%-49% in favor of losing simulations. And that only in honest cases when a player's bankroll is taken into calculus.

Reasoning

Every counting system raises the bet automatically every time the true count is positive. But the dealer still has a better chance to win in all counts. Thusly, the player still loses more often even when the count is positive. And because of bigger bets, many player’s losses come at higher costs. Some losses are so high that ruin occurs. Their sims don't even want to know of ruin! That's anathema for the Wattenbergers and Schlesingers and YouTubers and all blackjack liars of the world!!

Their only defence has been: "I shall sue you in court!" Yeah, right! A fraudster filing a lawsuit - what an oxymoron!

I've learned that in addition to basic strategy, one also needs to have a good betting strategy. Mine recognizes that you can have win streaks of several hands in a row, so I use that to my advantage. I start with one chip. If win, I let that ride. If win again, I have 4 chips, so I pull back 1 chip. Now I have my original chip back, plus three more chips in action. Another win, I now have 6 chips, so conservatively, I would keep three and bet three. All additional wins I keep several and bet several - the goal being to reach the house limit and stay there until I finally have a losing hand. If I lose at any step along the way, I revert back to one chip bet and work my way up again. Thus, I can win multiple chips up to house limit, but I can never lose more than one back at a time. I've practiced this at home for hour after hour, and can't count the times I buy in for $100, and cash out over $2,000 winner.

Hello everyone, I want to ask you on -5 and up if you have a pair of aces, isn't it better to double against any dealer card than to split?

00:00 Intro to Basic Strategy in Blackjack

Editarea videoclipului este foarte bună și face totul mai distractiv de urmărit.

01:08 What is Basic Strategy?

02:48 Why Are There Different Charts?

The devil is stealing your money through gambling. gambling is a sinful, spiritually destructive activity that exploits greed, promotes laziness over hard work, fosters addiction, and harms families, a tool satan uses to lead people away from God and toward ruin, leading to poverty and despair. It connects the love of money, broken stewardship, and false hope in chance to demonic influence, contrasting it with biblical principles of honest labor and faith in God. Casinos use all sorts of marketing schemes to entice gamblers to risk as much money as possible. They often offer inexpensive or even free alcohol, which encourages drunkenness, and thereby a decreased ability to make wise decisions. Everything in a casino is perfectly rigged for taking money in large sums and giving nothing in return, except for fleeting and empty pleasures. Lotteries attempt to portray themselves as a way to fund education and/or social programs. However, studies show that lottery participants are usually those who can least afford to be spending money on lottery tickets. The allure of “getting rich quick” is too great a temptation to resist for those who are desperate. The chances of winning are infinitesimal, which results in many peoples’ lives being ruined. Can lotto/lottery proceeds please God? Many people claim to be playing the lottery or gambling so that they can give the money to the church or to some other good cause. God does not need our winnings money to fund His mission in the world. Proverbs 13:11 says, “Dishonest money dwindles away, but he who gathers money little by little makes it grow.” God is sovereign and will provide for the needs of the church through honest means. Would God be honored by receiving donated drug money or money stolen in a bank robbery? Of course not. Neither does God need or want money that was “stolen” from the poor in the temptation for riches. First Timothy 6:10 tells us, “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” Hebrews 13:5 declares, “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’” Matthew 6:24 proclaims, “No one can serve two masters. either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”

If your memory suck, trying to remember basic strategy sucks. More so when recovering from Covid and still getting over 'brain-fog'.

Followed the basic strat on a simulator and lost 100k on 100 dollar bets. The dealer getting 10 on the draw and me hitting when the card said to hit and standing when it said to stand lost most of the time. 13-16 saying hit lost most of the time as did stand at the appropriate times the card said. I didnt take note of the total time played but followed the card and only won a few hands. Glad it was a simulator.

Playing blackjack sims at home the profit you get over long periods - if any - is very small. There are better ways to gamble.

The key word you said "in a long haul hitting on 16 give you an advantage of losing less...".That means you have to play longer meaning you have to have more money to stick around. And how if you have hitting on 16 your odds to be busted? When you burst dealer takes your money anyway. Aren't you happy to see dealer has 4, 5, 6 showing and double your bet because you are expecting there will be a 10 coming up. When you have 16, you only need a 6 to bust. Expecting a 4, 5 , 6 ?

Colin,
I love the content, you are really making a difference in my game play, for the positive. Thank you.

I have a question regarding not splitting tens or face cards, when drawn in pairs

Playing online, you see all kinds of wild play from other players, things that boggle the mind, from a basic strategy standpoint point.

I know you are supposed to stand when drawing a pair of tens, or face cards, but every time I see someone dealt this hand, they split the cards and end up drawing an ace, another ten or a nine….it seems like it happens constantly…..I’ll double on an eleven and draw an ace, two or three….they split face cards and draw an ace and a ten…
I’m sure there are statistics backing up basic strategy standpoint, standing on a 20 and not splitting, but I dont seem to see it in real time…Could you
please explain the reason behind standing on a pair of tens or face cards? thank you in advance

@mikeasquini2136

Remember, it's still gambling. Basic strategy decisions are based on statistical models, with a margin of error. They won't guarantee wins all the time.

@johnnyzeee5215
@

The one thing I can’t seem to grasp is splitting 8s against a face card. If we assume the dealer has a 10 underneath, getting 2 18s which is most likely scenario is still a losing hand.

As someone who's dealt games for a while, I always enjoy watching these videos. It's crazy to see what goes through players' minds mid-game. I've been checking out a lot of action on vbet India lately too - some moves are pure instinct, some are pure genius.

Even if you play online poker with this sheet, you'll end up busted.
When it says to stand, you'll rarely ever win those hands. So you better have a pretty good bank until a player can start hitting the winning hands from this sheet.

They say other players actions should not influence your decisions , but recentally a player on my right stands on a soft 17 or less on several occasions , do I leave this table , continue to play , what u suggest.

I was having a few hands at a casino in Sydney the other night and a young bloke was telling anyone who would listen that you never hit on any bust card ,i had 14 against the dealers picture card, so of course I hit gotta 10 and busted and he said "told you mate never hit anything above a 12",i just smiled and ignored him.
Later on he didn't split 8s ...lol..

@jaypincher9301
@

So, I have asked you this in previous videos but for some reason you refuse to answer: Why do you count 7, 8 and 9 as NEUTRAL? In Thorpe's book, he states that you can get a more accurate count if you only use 8 as NEUTRAL, 7 as POSITIVE and 9 as NEGATIVE. Can you clarify this? Pretty please with a cherry on top.
