please trust me when i say this: you HAVE to give the heir of broken fate series a shot!! so many of your fav romantasy/dark romantasy series youve recommended here remind me of this. i need to see my fav book creator love this series as much as i do. it is unfinished with one last book coming we dont know when but it is coming. the series is by mads rafferty and the books go in this order: book 1 is heir of broken fate, book 2 is heir of broken kingdom, and book 3 is heir of broken souls. the emotional damage, the magical beings, the found family, literally EVERYTHING IS SO GOOD

Black dagger brotherhood series by jr ward is such overlooked or forgotten series. Its a bit older. First book released in 2005 I think. It doesn't feel outdated. Its my favourite. Vampire dark romance. It is very big but I read maybe 6 books so far. And first 3 are 5 out 5, no notes. If you want to get into something a bit less mainstream I highly recommend.

Yes! Throne of Glass is the GOAT. Maas’ best work in my humble opinion. The writing is superior. It remains holy grail romantasy in my bookshelf.

My taste seems to align for once, not that I'm very picky lol but I can't start series that aren't completed, so my favorite series I literally never hear on these type of videos. As someone who has read tens of thousands of books over a 50 year period, I can say you can't go wrong with the two double Ds of urban romantasy.. Dannika Dark and Dianne Duval. The Mageri series and Crossbreed followup are first on my S tier, and Immortal Guardians are right up there. My best book boyfriends are in there, as well as some kickass fmcs.

26 min to mention Fourth Wing feels like a crime

I’m very much in love with ACOTAR. I thought the way that SJM wrote female characters was tasteful, never cheesy, always raw and real and from the heart. I just finished Fourth Wing. It was a fun read, good world building besides a few weak points politically, but I could not get into the romance. It was trying to be a slow burn but it was never slow and it never burned (for me). I often stick by the idea of show don’t tell, and this book did NOT abide by that rule. I understand why it’s popular, but the romance was horrible and tacky. LOVE SJM tho.
