Great video, thanks for sharing. I grew up around Wembley as a kid and could hear the concerts from my bedroom window and had the goodyear hot air balloon fly over head on FA cup day. The original tower flag poles and crowns now reside in the grounds of Sir William McAlpine's private Fawley Hill Estate in Henley-on-Thames. I believe it was the Mcalpines who designed/ built the original stadium.

And now if you look at the architecture in the area it's all huge soulless glass and steel buildings. But they're cheap to build and cheap to maintain. By the way I love Marillion too!

The old wembley was the easiest place to get into without a ticket.
You could just throw a fiver to the turnstile guy he would sweep it behind him onto the floor and click you through the turnstile.
Once you found a guy who would let you through the word spread fast to those outside, without tickets and they would stream through that turnstile. Guy working it cleaned up with all the cash...
I once threw a embassy cigarette coupon that used to come in the cigarette packs through , the guy had so many slipping him cash his foot was just constantly on the turnstile letting folks in, while he just sweeped the cash onto the floor behind him. I was through before he realised it wasn't cash.
How times have changed now...

You can admire the buildings, but you don't have to admire the empire. In the same way I admire and gawp at cathedrals but don't care for religion... i see it as the same thing. Listening to music you like that has a problematic singer... it's all relative really. The Empire was horrible and expositions in general seemed to be about indoctrinating people into the new society and the new divides, rather than a 'fun day out'.

There IS such a thing as a white horse, actually. I suspect that the rumour got around because s lot (, probably MOST) horses that the average Joe would call white, are actually GREY.

SO whats the difference?

Actually both true white and grey horses DO HAVE WHITE HAIR! The difference comes from the colour of the SKIN underneath the hair.

Most 'white' horses (that are actually GREY!) have got s dark/,black hide underneath. BUT. . .there ARE horses that have white hair over white hide.

They're pity easy to tell apart, because true white horses have s pale, pink muzzle that be I think, frankly, SCREAMS "WHAAAT! to anybody who's used to looking at 'ordinary' horses. They ALMOST BE look albino in comparison - but minus the pink eyes!

So no. "Horsey" people insisting that what the average person can QUITE CLEARLY SEE as a WHITE horse is ACTUALLY GREY are in not just being difficult to annoy the plebs!

I worked in the control room in the 90's did Euro 96 and numerous matches also several concerts still have my Wembley pass somewhere, they should have sold pieces of the towers as momentos
My funniest memory was the tannoy message that went out on the police radio if there was a fire, the message started with Mr Gates is in as not to cause panic if overheard ( then the location) Someone put out " Mr Gates is in the bin by gate H " how we laughed

I attended one match at the old Wembley, towards the end of it's life.
My main recollection is, of dozens of Bristol City fans all openly peeing in the concourse at half-time, as the toilet queues were epic.
