In the last several years, sports betting went from an illegal activity to a massive industry... but at what cost to YOU?
I see the title of this You Tube has now changed.
I guess they've concluded wisely: Yes, you can "win at gambling".

Legalize it! It makes no sense to ban vices. And it's a personal decision. Choices, even bad ones, are still choices.
But regulate and tax the hell out of it. No advertising. Don't criminalize it, but don't normalize it and celebrate it

Has no one heard of positive expected value betting or arbitrage betting? With software it is absolutely possible to be profitable, I personally have a 3.2% ROI over 3200 bets and have beat closing line value 70% of the time

i place bets on sports almost everyday, mostly on hockey, baseball or football but i bet really small, only $1 or $2 per bet so its not a problem. win some, lose some ... not a big deal ... you avoid a lot of problems when you do that. it just makes the games more interesting. ;)

It seems like many people are skeptical about sports betting, and rightfully so. The odds are usually stacked against bettors, as one commenter pointed out, with sportsbooks having all the operational costs covered by the money people lose. However, I recently stumbled upon a video on Kevin Lorsen's channel where they shared some interesting tips. It’s about finding rare, 100% sure betting picks that could actually turn a profit. I thought it was worth mentioning,

Gamble by buying stocks of a Sports Betting Company instead of using their service. Great advice.

8:12 saying it's ok to place a bet where it's legal is like saying it's ok to use heroin where it's legal. You'd have to be stupid to risk a lifetime of a crippling addiction just for funsies.

Correct me if I’m wrong but Dosnet the worlds greatest sports gambler of all time have like a 55 percent win rate. Dude rigged the World Series. Knew his shit and had his hand in sports and dumb ppl today think that they are somehow smarter and wiser then him. If he is the winningest sports gambler of all time with 55 percent you do realize that mean there needs to be a plethora of clowns who lost almost all the time…. But no…. Ur a genius…

Crazy how people in land of the free get all uppity about something that’s fun. American culture emphasizes greed so it’s no wonder people believe the answer to gambling is to ban it instead of saying “that’s enough” when they’ve made a little profit .
More User Perspectives
I gave up work to bet on horses. This Youtube is an extremely one sided anti-gambling piece. Yes it is true a "typical (average bet of all the people betting) Moneyline gets a profit for the bookie of between 5 and 6%". However, with sports betting the fair odds are not known. They are not a fact, it is only an opinion. So if a knowledgeable gambler is good at evaluating form into chance better than the betting market he / she makes an overall profit. ie By betting only when the percentage chance of winning is greater than the odds available... Then yes, you "CAN REALLY MAKE MONEY BETTING ON SPORTS".
eg If I work out the chance of A beating B is (imo) 25% then the fair odds of a 25% chance is 3/1 (4.00). So adding a margin of error, if A is available @ 4/1 (5.0) it is a good bet because only a 20% strike rate is needed to make a profit on 4/1 (5.0) bets.
I believe in the USA there are betting taxes which also need to be taken into consideration when calculating what the fair odds are.
Yes you can but you need to find your market and make smart bets using parlays when it’s an edge and with this you need to have numerous outs as retail books will limit you once you win so you’ll have to goto offshore soon enough
@Racinrasslinfan36I've made over 1500 betting on boxing over the last 5 years. They constantly misprice fights. I only bet 10-20. Yes you can make money sportsbetting but probably not on the major sports since they are so well researched that it's tough to find a mispriced line.
@CosmicCosmo1Can you make money gambling? Sure, but the odds are that you will lose money in the long run.
@AxelQCI think the fact that people are using money that they really need for betting says more about public education than anything. I'm not smart at all but even I've never touched betting once.
@ArnoldCrammer-n9twhat is with american and dream of getting rich overnight? dumb americans
@amateur_adventuristIn theory you can, it’s very difficult and it’d be based on math, and historical averages… not your favorite team or “vibes”.
You can also make money playing poker, and even blackjack, but again, very hard and math based.
This is just a terrible take. I've put in 25 bucks this year, been up and down, but never had to put more money in. After last night, I don't need to put any money in ever again, and if Derrick Henry scores a TD, I got money to pay off some bills. Also, sure they have those error clauses, but the other beauty of doing betting on a smartphone is you can share that immediately, drum up a ton of negative response to a bet app not paying out, and they tend to reverse those decision. It's kind of like you say about the worry about the integrity of sports, who's going to bet on an app where you KNOW they won't cash out on a big win? You won't. That's why they have to pay out or they'll just be dumped in favor of the more honest bet apps. If none of them payout big, what would be the point in using it? That's the dream of using the apps. 18 leg 13858295+ odds parlays that grant* you thousands on a 1 dollar bet
@joeshmoe5160People fail to make the (small) mental leap that the enormous profitability of gambling organisations is entirely financed by net player losses. And the odds are set explicitly so that players, as a group, WILL make a net loss.
Every time you see a $100k ad on television for sports gambling, that was financed by $100k in player losses.
It is POSSIBLE to make money betting on sports, it just requires either enormous expertise or enormous luck - and it's usually the latter
Online betting should be required to display the total money you've LOST whenever using it. People will quit sooner when they are constantly reminded of how much money they've given to the bookies.
@asdfasdt5921I just did
@Sharpshooter649Great vid. Bring the stash back 😭
@samtrieu8122The worst thing of all is that if you really win they will block your account as you end up not being profitable for them.
They won't share the profits made off gambling addicts even if you defy their own odds.. another loss for the working class
Sure, the state knows what is better for you.
@GMcDermNo you will lose all your money
@stormvilliansIf you could know all the variables perhaps
@Dan1elAndradeYou can make money from sports betting. It's called matched betting. It involves placing bets on both outcomes of a game
@edmacandcheeseAs a winning bettor I selfishly want it to expand and grow and for more books to be available for use. However, I see it’s such a massive problem for so many and sports books love preying on weak and addicted people. On the same hand, if you show you are making sharp bets that beat the market over time they limit you and prevent you from placing substantial bets or even anything over $10 — but provide incredible promos to degenerate gamblers to literally entice them to keep coming back.
@poopnugget7225Of course you can make money, but the odds are against you.
@Origami84Never gave it a thought but after this video it kinda sounds fun lol
@MrSpamfriedriceAnyone who doesn’t care about sports should not be making a video about this. 🤦♂️
@paisan8766Gambling in general is 430 credit score behavior. Put it into SPY or BTC and forget about it
@SlotsMyThingIt is just a marketing expense that on occasion actually makes me a little extra cheddar.
@glensmith491Been sports betting for 6 years have won over 200k but now I’m banned by the books Vegas hates winners
@chache6887If u can bet u can bet it's rigged.
@mannygoesbananasWhat a ridiculous video! Total piece of crap! You did not even attempt to answer the question you posted yourself. This was just an ad against sports betting and gambling.
@pokersensei1245As a small time bettor I make 2k-4k a month😂 just straight bets no parlays, no prop plays, no live betting. My bets are in MLB, college football, NFL, NBA which ever sports I have some knowledge of. All the information about the game can be seen online for free. Just find a local bookie. Select your bets and MANAGE YOUR BANKROLL! been doing it for 2 years now.
@Dryrain-d9hI won't lie I got addicted but ive been LUCKY not skilled, but LUCKY to be up a couple of hundred of dollars. It's a weird sensation.
@bowebusiThe final line "You would have made more money investing in Draft Kings stock than betting on its platform" really drives home the message.
