@kenwatson-b6mSo the us flight included basic economy and not main cabin with only a 200 dollar cancellation fee.
@sarahsairbnb6904Don’t know if you mentioned it in the comments, but if you’re booking through Costco and use their credit card, you get the points back in cash.

@TheWiggelsworthOne thing you missed with Costco is that if you use their credit card you get points that are redeemable at the end of the year. This year we are getting back over 500.00 dollars on ours through Costco. And they will pay you cash, store credit, apply it to you Costco charges whatever you want to do.

@gatita0001those points are probably credited to you when you first open the card. Once you spend them on one trip you have to borrow with your credit card to earn more points
