🔎 In this video we cover:
Hi. I’m long time resident of Nashville and this video was very informative for me and to compare how we rate everywhere. I am looking to retire and was wondering about the tiny or small house craze. Is there a community of those homes near Nashville. I have thought of downsizing and am wondering how to go about this.
✅ Cost of Living: Nashville is 1% below the national average—far cheaper than San Francisco (+80%) or Seattle (+55%).
✅ Tax Savings: Residents save $5k–$7k/year on state income tax (based on $100k salary).
How's the long term rental return in nashville? I heard it's not good after house price spike. I'm a small landlord in Boston thinking about moving to Nashville or knoxville.
✅ Housing: Median single-family homes run $450k–$500k, with the market trending neutral for buyers in 2026.
✅ Utilities: Thanks to TVA, bills run about 4% below the national average.
I live in a suburb within the Seattle and Bellevue metro area, and we are considering a move to the Nashville area due to the increasing taxes and living costs.
I live in an area where the average housing cost is $800K. This is considered an upper- middle class neighborhood.
My utilities is higher than average because i do have a bathtub, internal heating and cooling system, and a mother-in law apartment.
The cost rages from $200 to $575 per month.
Groceries are around $1,500 per month for family of five.
✅ Transportation: Gas is cheap, but the city relies on cars; public transit (WeGo) is limited.
✅ Building Costs: Mid-range custom homes average $175–$210/sq. ft.; luxury can top $600/sq. ft.
In your opinion would my wife and I be able to live in Nashville if I make $110k annually?
