More and more adults are being diagnosed with #ADHD, so today, we are unpacking the 6 surprising signs of ADHD. I also tell you why so many women, in particular, go undiagnosed.

I've also been on Adderall for like almost a decade, with my interceanial insults it fucking yes helps. In the back of my brain during the nuero didn't even light up trying to say the alphabet backwards. OMG 😢 Mel I hit my head on a 3 ton water truck at 13, I would love to talk nuero placidly, and how like lithium heals, yet can be toxic causing the tragedy of insight and inside because I know what is up how physical decline is there and be able to help educate on like chronic traumatic encephalopathy, pituitary tumors, lesions, cognitive decline the thoughts with it how they ruminate possibly help teach. I'm on palliative care by specialist at 48, and not 1 doctor can understand what. I've done the moca scoring 21/30 and the nuero cognitive computer test 47/100 yet I know I could still be a 4.0 in school fucked up. How to accept fund gratitude, pain dysphasia with the absolute highest stress environment, loss of kids grandkids. I really feel like you can help at least get interests started with multiple things uncertainty exapinetial anxiety. ❤ You know I have been a loyal listener since Ted talks. You are the biggest inspiration.

In this episode, we go deep into what ADHD is: a neurological disorder that affects the #brain structurally and chemically. I explain the signs and the #science behind what is going on in your brain to help you live a better life.

00:00 Intro

05:20 The surprising backdoor way I was diagnosed with ADHD.

Hi tha ks for this video great to look out for girls i have a wife and two daughters. But I must be a girl because you described my life to a T with the 'girl' adhd. It is called inattentive a d this applies to men and women. This is my life exactly. From primary school until to at 43 years old. Just found out the other day that this is inattentive add. Not hyperactive. Hope you take this in to account. Thanks love your podcasts

08:34 What I learned about the “lost generation” that has blown me away.

10:41 A terrifyingly important statistic that led to this podcast episode.

So needed to hear this today. Thank you xx

11:45 The definition of ADHD that may make you feel better about yours.

13:51 Why are women under-diagnosed? The differences in symptoms.

You havnt once so far mentioned substance misuse. I turned into an alcoholic, rehad 3 times, shaved hair off, britney spears did that years after i did! Now i have a ketamine addiction! How the hell do you get diagnosed? My doctor thinks im a bloody depressed woman n gives me happy pills, for years n years. I fractured my head when i was drunk, now the neurologist rings me once a year to ask how i am, thats if he remembers! I feel shit n do think of killing myself. I wouldnt have to suffer then would i 😅

— @rosemaryhilton2029

23:25 This is how ADHD impacts your brain.

25:51 A really clear metaphor to explain how your brain silences noise, or doesn’t.

How can i get a diagnosis for whatever is wrong with me, im nearly 65 n have struggled all my life with being me, my daughter was taken off me at 7, ptsd i think followed, i was a good mum but turned to drink, went to rehab 3 times, got better but they still took her. The social services are shite i hate the lot of them. The doctors just give me anti depressants, thats it. Bollocks to the lot of them

— @rosemaryhilton2029

36:52 How is it I have ADHD, yet I can hyper-focus?

42:42 More surprising symptoms of ADHD that might make your relationships hard.

I was diagnosed at 44 it all made sense, then being medicated is life changing ❤

— @ClaireQuinlan-j7m

43:55 This one hack helps me get birthday gifts for others on time.

45:14 The jobs I loved because they worked well with ADHD.

My sister has the same thing and finally got some medication which has made a profound difference. I am hoping the same for me. Thank you so much for making it so clear and easy to understand. 🤗♥️

Good explanations but I have to wonder if you needed adderall to do this video or if you were able to focus without it. BTW both my kids were ADD from my Ex and my son only need meds only part time. He learned to adapt. His sister however has too many other problems.

My son was just diagnosed at 6 years old and my younger son who is 4 we think he has it too also my partner is gonna go through the process of getting his self assessed as well because he struggles with so much in life but at 40 years old he thinks that it’s a waste of time because he’s too old and what will medication do for him and that it won’t help him but I’m praying that this week he gets a referral from the doctor to finally go get treatment
Also his older son who’s 18 is showing signs of adhd as well and is also struggling in life but he’s stubborn too and says nah I don’t need to get tested il be fine maybe I would of got tested when I was a kid but now I’m not doing it and he don’t wanna pay for it either

Man. I haven't even fished the video, but man. I'm 27 and feel like my life has been stunted by things that I assumed responsibility over and I virtually have no self esteem now. I feel unworthy of love. I have experienced literally everything youve talked about. Next week I'm going to be screened by the clinic who might end up doing my test, if they approve to do it. I feel really nervous because I have been labeled as other things my entire life. But I am so desperate. I can't continue like this. I'm so scared that I'll be dismissed. I am so exhausted.

As a 41m just getting diagnosed, I heavily disagree with your framing around how different it presents in the genders and I think explaining it this way does harm to men for those of us without the external hyperactivity.

I'm sure girls are under diagnosed but boys are too. This is a big problem with society. I just wish we wouldn't put up barriers when it comes to education

I'm a 60 year old female with dyslexia and pretty sure I'm ADHD. I have found it's nice to have a best friend that is ADHD. Her and I can talk about 3 or 4 different things in the same conversation. And even pick back up on a topic days later like it was just minutes ago. I am never on time, I don't see clutter and I have several projects all going at the same time, but most never get finished.
