I’ve run through the Louvre once at 25, strode through it at 45, and hobbled through at 57.

It’s a lot to see, and wonderful, but unless I move to Paris and get a season pass or can have it to myself next time I think I’ll pass. Even my blisters got blisters.

The Musee Carnavalet is much more doable and less visited. Highly recommended.

Venus and Nike, are not objects of art, at all, they're Icons, France should give them back, to Greece in front of their sea, in Louvre, is cold all the time.
They should be by their sea, Venus was born by the foam of the sea.

Mona is a collective hysteria, she's not finished, she's a study of Leonardo ,in sfumatto, a study in light.
Many centuries after him, the study of light, was an obsession, from van Gogh to Mattise, all of them.
They didn't understand what light is, we don't know either .

Took my kids there last Halloween to see Mona Lisa, and for me to see the Dendera Zodiac. And yes, there was a crowd around the mummy, which I couldn't understand at the time. Please do the Tate Britain and include Delvaux - Sleeping Venus, Dadd - The Fairy Feller.s Master Stroke.

Please clarify something
for me: I have heard the surname of the artist who painted the Coronation Of Napoleon pronounced as
"DAH- VEED" and "DAY-VID" the latter pronounced the same way we pronounce the FIrst Name.
Which is correct?
This artist is the same who painted the highly-controversial "Death Of Marat" which haunted David for the rest of his life, and was one of the reasons David was exiled to I believe it was Belgium for the rest of his life.

Okay, that Louvre Mummy's face is really spooky, kinda pyramidic and utterly inhuman.

I loved Madonna of Raphael, just outside of the Monalisa room, and cupid and Psyche in the room with dying slaves.

I find mummies inherently fascinating and terrifying. There used to be a native one in New Mexico, at the Mesa Verde museum. They had given her an Anglican name, "Esther," and she was on prominent display. (The thing you said once about how museums are not neutral places applies here. This was my lesson in that concept, and I learned it early.) Anyway, Esther freaked me the fuck out I'm not gonna lie. I thought she was TERRIFYING, but I could stare at her for HOURS, transfixed. My uncle used to chase us around at our family's cabin after a visit to Mesa Verde, going, "If you're not good, Esther's gonna get ya! If you don't mind, I'm gonna take you back to the museum and make you sleep in Esther's room!" haha. She was returned to her descendants in the late 1990's or early 2000's. I am glad she is with her people, but I miss her being there to terrify children.
