THE SOCIAL RECKONING – Official Teaser Trailer (HD)

Video Overview & Insights

Every revolution begins with a reckoning.

looks very anti-capitalist, but now that mark is on "our" side then i guess i'm ok with everything that he's doing.

— @premierecommunications2324

The Social Reckoning, a companion piece to The Social Network, is coming exclusively to theatres October 9.

Only thing that worries me is Sorkin’s directing, he’s historically been very pedestrian behind the camera

THE SOCIAL RECKONING

Dramatic Thriller

Gosh, I'm not in love with the trailer. It feels like an Apple TV show.

— @MoleyRusselsWart_

October 9, 2026

A companion piece to the hit film The Social Network, Sorkin’s original screenplay is based on the events that gave rise to the Wall Street Journal’s shocking exposé The Facebook Files. The film is inspired by the true story of how Frances Haugen (Madison), a young Facebook engineer, enlists the help of Jeff Horwitz (White), a Wall Street Journal reporter, to go on a dangerous journey that ends up blowing the whistle on the social network’s most guarded secrets.

I feel the portrayal isn't that convincing - there's still some life behind Jeremy's eyes.

Executive Producers:

so far, this movie looks so bland and boring compared to the first one, Fincher has sum of the most sleekest and polished films and camerawork in the game, his touch & direction is definitely missed, but regardless I’m still checking out this one, when it hits theaters

— @FilmCritic2004

Lauren Lohman

Roger McNamee

This looks so boring

— @Patritz

Ellen Goldsmith-Vein

Broderick Johnson

All this happened and no one cared! A bunch of click-bait articles and videos came out and then everyone just kept using that Meta slop for eternity because we apparently have no self-control/ self-respect in North America

What's with the cinematography for this movie? It has this unnatural digital smooth look like it has been rendered by some Ai software.

It would’ve been cool if they had gotten Jesse Eisenberg to reprise MZ but Jeremy Strong works just as well in his own right

@andrewa4147

The actor Samuel Roukin should've been given the chance to play Mark. Not only does he have the looks but can nail his awkward speech pattern, and slight cockiness due to his previous characters having similar traits.

@K3VINM

Cinema is back.

@rockyaoki8929

Mark's acting at 2:05 is immaculate. He talks with the appearance of authority, but you can tell it's more rather hubris. He walks up to Bill confidently... but then Jeremy masterfully nervously paces around, steps back and purses his lips down and gives you this look of uncertainty. SO MUCH communication in a matter of seconds.

@paskowitz
@

Alexandre Desplat instead of Trent Reznor scoring? Huh. Sorkin instead of Fincher directing? Boo. Jeremy Strong as Zuckerberg? Eh. Zuckerberg being publicly raked over the coals? Yay!

@josiahscurlock

Glad to see this got made and is coming out! I always felt like the Facebook Papers and Frances Haugen's testimonies to the US and UK faded from public consciousness way too quickly and didn't make the kind of impact it should have. Though, would have been nice if they actually said her name in the trailer, as she certainly deserves the recognition. Still, hopefully this will bring the Facebook Papers back into public consciousness and inspire people to look back through the redacted documents and summaries of the unredacted documents, because there is just so much messed up and dystopian stuff in there that Meta has basically continued to do after getting a slap on the wrist.
