Ironically, Jason Derulo sounds a lot better without pitch correction and vocal effects. His natural voice is amazing.

@juliusgaias7739I feel like if they'd put someone like Baz Luhrmann in charge of this movie, laid off of the horrible CGI, reduced the obnoxious one-liners they made Rebel Wilson say, then this movie might have actually slapped. Baz Luhrmann's high energy filmmaking style very much leans into a chaotic, often absurd energy which I think would have paired quite well with "Cats" (well, better than Tom Hooper's style at least..). It's kind of a shame because while "Cats" is an utterly ridiculous musical production that just somehow "works", I actually think that it could have been adapted into a really funny movie musical that wasn't this cringey.
Aside from that, actually I believe that Jason Derulo was a great choice for Rum Tum Tugger and does his best with what he's working with.. but it's just that the CGI and some of the other creative choices make his character (and other characters) lean way more in the direction of "cringey" than "campy".

@thetrick4025Out of all the scenes in the movie, I was looking forward to this one the most when they told me it was Jason Derulo playing Tugger. But I am so disappointed in him. He could have gone so big and sexy with this role, but I feel like he’s downplaying it. Am I wrong?
