The Reality of Living in Mexico

4 Reasons Expats Lose Their Homes in Mexico (And How to Avoid Them)
My feeling about how "expat" is used is to denote someone in a foreign country who is there for a more leisurely life, who intends to always identify as being from his home country. To disappoint the haters, I use the example that a Mexican businessman who retires to California to relax and play golf is a Mexican expat in America.

What is the REALITY of living in Mexico?
Thanks you for sharing your insight and experience.
After years of living in Mexico, I’ve noticed there are certain comments, misconceptions, and fears that come up over and over again online.
In this video, I talk openly about topics like:
awesome video
• Expat vs immigrant
• Buying property in Mexico as a foreigner
Enjoyable videos.. Thanks for posting!
• Fideicomiso explained
• Corruption and police bribes
Great to see another town. We are looking forward to our next trip. Thanks for another video.
• Safety concerns in Mexico
• Respecting Mexican culture while living abroad
Great video. Smart and spot on with my own experiences
I also share personal experiences from living in Bahía de Banderas, Puerto Vallarta, Bucerías, and beyond — including stories that highlight both the positives and challenges of life in Mexico.
This video isn’t about pretending Mexico is perfect.
I agree, snowbird = expat, live there full time permanently = immigrant 😃.
It’s about having an honest conversation about what life here is actually like.
If you’re considering moving to Mexico, retiring in Mexico, buying real estate in Mexico, or simply curious about expat life and Mexican culture, I hope this video gives you some perspective.
Thank you for the content and to heck with the critics. Who cares about Latin or exegesis right now? I've just gotta bounce! I do love language, under normal circumstances. However, at present, I need to learn Spanish and how to earn $400 a month from anywhere but the U.S. The people are beautiful.

Wow, awesome video! I always enjoy how you address topics about living in Mexico and I really enjoyed how you handled your interactions with Edwardo. While I dream of the interior highlands of Mexico and am not too interested in hot humid weather, you always make me think I should reconsider. Keep up the great work!

Well the US has a few problems like poverty, homelessness, school shootings, bombings, divisive racial tensions, exploitation by an elite billionaire class that own the country, corrupt government, and so on, but at least we’re not a third world country. 🙄

Your explanation about expats and immigrants is a good one.
I'm an immigrant to the United States and an immigrant to Mexico, although inside Mexico I'd refer to myself simply as a Gringo or Extranjero. Once I'll naturalize in Mexico, I will still be a Gringo but no longer an Extranjero.
Do I care if someone calls themselves or me an expat? Nope.
As for corruption, the only exposure we had to it is the police and the National Guard. It helps to be overly friendly and casually look at the car's camera system without mentioning it. We had 3 shakedowns in 8,400 miles all through Mexico and while it was unpleasant, it didn't kill us to donate a bit of money to their cause.

No. You cribbed that off of someone else who was also wrong. "Expatriate" is already a defined word meaning to renounce one's original country. That means giving up citizenship, which would have to entail getting citizenship in the new country. "Immigrant" means someone who migrates into a country, and "migrate" just means "move." So "immigrant" is the right word for most so- called "expats."
Not even worth listening to the rest.

Good video Paul.
@MABOartGreat video
@maybethistimeIVDios mio, the baker struck out on 2 counts. First, how unbelievably tone deaf to insult your adopted/host country in any way. Terrible form and stupid. But second, the guy was completely off the mark! El pan es fantastico y la cultura de pan en el pais es marvelliosa!
@feldhdlehYou should learn the real history of why foreign people can't own land long the coast line.
@albertgarcia2309I and my daughters have been to all parts of Mexico many times, never once had any trouble or issues. I love Mexico and the Mexican people. And maybe that is the answer...🥰
@LindaDesrosiers-x8zRespect I like!
@IwillworkfortravelExpat/Immigrant, I'll be happy to be either in Mexico. I always carry pesos when visiting Bucerias. Do locals consider it rude to pay with Dollars, or does it depend on the exchange rate.
@wilwarnewDo not disrespect the bolillo. 😠It’s an integral part of Mexican culture. Such arrogance to blithely assert that your preference in bread is superior to someone else’s. I’m a multigrain bread person myself, but my Mexican husband much prefers a bolillo or telera.
@mwiebe2663I miss mexico!!😊😅
@Kimberly-r4p5bWe just bought in Bucerias. It was a super easy process with the notary and real estate agent. Hopefully we will see you around in June!
@matthewstevens1345Most of what they teach us in school about the history of The United States is lies, it has always been a criminal enterprise. They did not get their independence from Great Britain, and actually The United States of America does not even exist, Abraham Lincoln gave The United States of America to the pope of his time to satisfy a debt the US had to Great Britain and a debt Great Britain had to the pope/Vatican crown. The popes have never been men of God they have all been emperors of The Holy Roman Empire as well as the man the bible calls The Man of Sin pretending to be servants of God. The Roman empire was never overthrown they faked it and went into hiding in the church/catholic church that was created/founded by Constantine The Great not Jesus and they have been pretending to be servants of God ever since and have continued their conquests/thefts under the flags of and using other nations including the US and using their military forces, weapons, and money and allowing the treasonous leaders of those nations to live deliciously with the Beast/pope, Trump is one of them and all our leaders have always been traitors and enemies of/to the people.
The Constitution and all the documents that were written for The United States of America are invalid documents because the nation they were written for no longer exists. The United States of America along with all of it's states and all of their divisions and subdivisions along with all of their powers and authorities were totally dissolved on March 9th 1933 by Franklin Delano Roosevelt and the 73rd congress. The nation is now a privately owned criminal corporate cabal solely owned by the pope.
I know the truth of our history because God taught me the truth, I have had the privilege of getting to see and visit God(Jesus/Yeshua) face to face periodically all my life beginning with before I was born, the last time I saw him and got to visit with him he gave me the whole earth and everything in it. God has chosen me to be the king over all the nations on this earth of his and all the nations who refuse to surrender their nations to me and do what I say will be destroyed by God the same as the bible says he destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.Biden and Trump have both refused to surrender the nation and everything it owns and or controls to me, it is time for their total destruction unless they all get together and force Trump to get to my house with the pope and surrender everything I expect of them. I asked God to send armies of his angels and fire out of heaven to destroy all of them the same as he destroyed Elijah's enemies if everything is not surrendered and given to me immediately.The White House has my address so they have no excuses.
.All the world leaders,governments, and elites are working on exterminating the worlds population except for those they can use as slaves or need for something, it's a Satanic
Our military troops services are for sale to anyone who will pay the popes price. .
If someone gets triggered by a word you need to take a deep look at yourself and find out what's broken inside of you.
@fearlessincaboWell done
@tommurphy2873It’s sad to see how much the bread and sugar culture has resulted in a pandemic of obesity and diabetes in México. Some criticism of those food choices might result in a healthier population.
@gerawanI've watched dozens of videos about life in Mexico, but I learn so much more from your videos. I consider myself an immigrant because I have no intention of moving back to the US. This is my home now. If God lets me live long enough, I will get my citizenship. Thanks for a great video and keep up the good work. R3B
@rickthreebears184Thank you for great explanations of the realities of Mexico ❤
@ytelifyMost people show respect to the country they're visiting, all but one country who don't like to respect anywhere or any one
@speakn0ev022You Rock Paul! Another great video. Thanks for doing what you do. Cheers 😊
@johng8310Mexican pan is one of the “sweetest” things Mexico has to offer. It’s one of the funnest things to do is to go around a panadaria picking your favorite pans with the tray and tongs. The work and love that Mexicans put into pan is a true art ❤ I love pan. 😊great video Paul, nice scenery 😍
@pammydesmond3703Fantastic video Paul! I was thinking about the expat/inmigrante thing the other day and I think the "intending to return to your home country some day" is a good test. I was thinking that if you earn all your money in your home country (like a retired pensioner) then you are an expat, but if you earn money in your new country then you are an immigrant. Maybe intending to return to your home country is a better way of looking at it because then you're "just visiting".
@CallowGGood one Paul! People can be so ignorant. 😮
@walkingwater1The interaction with Eduardo was the perfect example of who the Mexican People are. Mostly Great!
