0:00 - Intro to The Real Pros And Cons Of Jacksonville Florida | Watch Before Moving to Jacksonville Florida

The first original Jacksonville has been a big victim of embezzlement, money laundring, and wire fraud from the beginning of time to present day 09/24/25 and Northside, northwest, Eastside, and Westside Jax has suffered terribly over the years due to crooked city officials who at some point pocket city funds using others names calling it operation (Whatever) or use proposing a new building project and it never gets off the ground. and disappear after the first renderings calling that the Seaglass Tower. Says its gonna cost 40 million to do a land study, only to tell the residents the land is poisoned and chemically tainted and its gonna cost an additional 60 million dollars to treat the land which never been treated or fixed.

So there u go people 100 million dollars just disappeared into an open escrow account and the projects are never mentioned again and after the tenure of the city officials they go and buy mansions and big cars and land off the money they sucked out of the escrow accounts that came from these busted operations and proposals and the money is never questioned by anyone, not even the city auditor which got a 10 million to Tell a huge lie about funding. So now you all know the secrets of the city officials have gotten rich using city funds and funding. Dont forget Whites do not like blacks or spanish and the job market is so racist that blacks and spanish eventually become homeless because racist caucasions want to see everyone fail. so if you not rich or have your own business you will will fill the full wrath of white collar racism. Also they will hit you in their car and keep going.

I drove through downtown a few years ago, and couldn’t believe the number of homeless camping out in tents. Like an entire block. Beaches are definitely prettier if you drive to St. Augustine or Fernandina/Amelia island. I got followed to my car by homeless (but friendly) people at Jax Beach.

I lived in Jax back when it was much, much less crowded. I moved up from Fort Lauderdale in 1980. It still had a very "southern" feel to it then. I guess you can't slow progress.

As for the sports in Jacksonville, you forgot the Sharks. They are an arena football team and play in the same arena the Icemen do. Their games are really fun.

As a lifelong resident of 62 years in Jacksonville, FL, I can tell you this. The city seems to have doubled or tripled in my lifetime. The county hasn't grown but we have easily three times as many people, buildings, cars. Also, I'm on the Southside of Jacksonville, FL off of Beach Blvd. We have seen a MASSIVE migration of Spanish people here. I am now surrounded by Spanish people. At the end the road at Beach Blvd is a market which must be for Muslims. I see women in full burkas all the time. Beside that is a Spanish owned car lot. With all of these new people there are lot more accidents and people are crashing everywhere. People are driving like lunatics here. I drive for a living and I know Jacksonville. Every other street seems to have burnouts, where someone laid down some rubber from their tires. I see complete donuts in the road. I guess that was done at night. We have street racing. There is a great deal of crime here. So we have many new Spanish people. Many new Muslim people. We have many Bosnians from the 90's. I know one guy who went back home from Jax to Bosnia. We have a lot of Haitians here too. I worked at Vistakon in 2000 as a temporary worker and they mostly only wanted to employ foreign born people. That is a Johnson and Johnson company. I'd also say that the Northside and the Westside are probably the more dangerous sides of town but the Southside of town has a good bit of crime too. The Flea Market on Beach Blvd is now mostly Spanish and Asian people. Country Side mobile home park is mostly Spanish people. The apartments on Barnes road are mostly Spanish and Asian people. University Blvd between 1-95 and Beach blvd has a whole lot of ethnic eating spots, some are Muslim. Anyway, Jax, FL is hardly some big white city. In fact, we are labeled a "minority majority" city like so many in the USA. And you know, as a life long resident this city is so overcrowded, imo. It is so loud living about a block off of Beach Blvd. People are racing and putting the loudest exhaust systems on their cars. There are also a lot of motorcyclist deaths. These people on bikes cut through traffic. Jax, FL used to POLICE and have things under control. Now we don't even have a local NOISE ORDINANCE. If say people want to blast their music all day, there is no law to make them get quiet. And like many other cities, you can smell pot smoke all over the city. Clearly, I have been here too long. Also, this was once thought of as a sort of Christian town with the late great First Baptist Church downtown having influence. Well, that church is only in name only now. They sold most of the property. Now all that is left is a small remnant of those Baptists and many of the church attendees are more ethnic or minority than anything else.

Jacksonville (Duval county) has top tier public schools that out perform the ones you mentioned. We have Stanton, Paxon, and Edgewood. The counties you mentioned do not have a school on the list…. Plus, we have LaVilla for the Arts.

We also have FSCJ; an excellent college that is also very affordable. We have golf at Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra near by.

I have lived in Jacksonville since 2006 and I think your description is pretty accurate. But there is one area you didn't touch on and that is crime. Crime rate is surprisingly high, especially in certain parts of Jacksonville.

Lots of changes in Jax since some of these people have been here. But one thing forsure. You must love the humid hot weather in summer or you will be miserable. 😊

@pamelasvadeba1629

This lady is lying. The schools are worst. Very little entertainment in form of shows, concerts compared to other big cities. No downtown to shop, hangout bc of homeless occupation of prime waterfront.

@jaxfl8945

Jacksonville is certainly not a horrible city, but it is lacking compared to other large cities. We do have parks, but compared to other cities, the parks are somewhat lacking in terms of size, walkable paths, and bike paths. Florida in general is lacking in a variety of trees, bushes, and plants compared to other areas of the U.S. when it comes to our forests. Expect a lot of pine trees and oak trees. Large cities usually have bad traffic problems and Jacksonville is no exception, but compared to other large cities, it is probably not nearly as bad yet. There are still large parts of the day you can drive and it not feel like rush hour. In terms of schools, it sort of depends on where you live to how nice the school will be.

Seriously?? Those are the cons?? What a joke. What about crime? Demographics?

@vaugustine1594

I'm from CT. I've been in Jax for 7 years now. I honestly don't like it here. It's kinda backwards, lower income, less educated and the summers are awful. High obesity rates. Winter is chilly. The downtown is depressing. And the deforestation and rampant building of cheap luxury apartments is disgusting. Most schools are not good. There are too many bad neighborhoods. There are plenty of worse places to live of course.

@nick8243
@

As far as schools go the video was slightly misleading. While it’s true that St. Johns, Nassau and Clay Counties do have good public schools, Jacksonville itself DOES NOT!!! Jacksonville is not in St. Johns, Nassau or Clay Counties. Jacksonville is located in Duval County which has some of the worst public schools in the entire State.

@phillipsheppard5361
@

As a native there is a lot of truth to what she says. She mentioned the schools but did not include Duval County which is the biggest county. Public schools are rough here. Traffic is not bad here compared to other big cities and pretty much only during rush hour. It is a great sports town where you can find a team and a sport and places to practice and play. I love it here. The cons….i can’t say here.

@Papayajoseph
@

First of all I'm not trying to be rude I'm just going to stay a cold hard fact, you don't deserve the right to review Jacksonville when only being here from 2011😂 I am 3rd generation Jacksonville Duval County. My kids and grandkids are now 4th and 5th generation. I know the families from here search is The Hodges, the skinners my entire life. These are the people you should go to if you want to learn some history, now with that being said the biggest Con in Jacksonville is Shahid - CON , coming in second place with her legs spread open in the back of the news van our new mayor Donna Deegan, if she will cheat on her husband with a drunk newsman in the back of a news van what could she honestly be doing right for our city?🏆 you want to do a history video on Jacksonville, do one on our mayor Donna Deegan see what you dig up😂

Jacksonville = no pros, a million cons.

@restfulambiancehq157
@

Cons. … just 3 ? That’s it ? How about crime ? One of the worst in the state ? Particularly getting worse by the beach (two beach shootings in the last few months). Also, never ending construction? The I95 and the I10 areas closer to downtown have been in construction mode since the 1990’s.
Lack of indoor activities, homelessness in downtown, etc
Plenty of cons

@chumbala1
@

Although they call it an international airport, flights from Jacksonville are not direct to cities outside of the US. That's a big negative for anyone who likes to travel. And these indirect flights are crazy expensive!

@kevincallaghan326
@

2/3 what you can make elsewhere not 1/3. Plus benefits are not great which sadly is happening everywhere.

@aclem8246
@

The humidity in summer is overwhelming, the beach area is not really developed, there really is no "downtown" shopping and entertainment area so no concentration of great restaurants, bars, clubs or shopping, like Florida and the rest of the south, pay is about 1/3 of what you can earn elsewhere so although it there are lots of jobs you are hard pressed to find a good wage. Jacksonville really is just a conglomeration of small towns grouped together to make a big city.

@aclem8246
@

Went last week the traffic is horrible and rain all day in the afternoon. The beach is amazing.

@Clusa1987

Jax is a fucking shit hole, theres pockets of hoods all over the place. You WILL be a victim of robberies and violent crime.

@JT-br7xg

Jax is the most ratchet city in Florida.

@johnny5735
@

Nassau County is not considered Jacksonville. She doesn't mention Duval County Schools which is the County Jacksonville is In! Why? Because the school system in Jacksonville Sucks. The Airport is nice but it's not centrally located, it's on the most North End of town. Downtown Jacksonville is terrible and there's nothing going on there, except empty buildings and crime. The Beach is ok but the water is not clear, Destin beaches are way nicer than Jacksonville Beaches. So disappointing that the Jacksonville Beach area is full of thugs at night. Not sure where all these parks she referring to are. But the traffic is not bad at all. The weather is not as bad as she described, except its cold at times in the winter. She also fails to mention the crime, which is one of the worst in the State, mainly due to our population demographics. Jacksonville has been the murder capital of Florida for many years, not sure if we still own that title. I seen similar videos of other cities, now I know not to believe them...

I love Jax some other pluses:
1) you’re 5 hours from Charleston, 5 hours to Tampa, 5 hours to atlanta, 5 hours to Miami
2) the natural beauty is stunning … drive over the jtb bridge over the icw and gawk at the amazing vista of the estuary or take a jet ski or small boat to the gtm preserve. There are 7 bridges you can cross and how can the water below you not put a smile on your face
3) it’s still reasonably affordable in comparison to south east florida
4) it’s growing like crazy (now the 10 most populous city in the US) and with it the amenities, restaurants, recreational activities are blowing up
5) health care is world class …. Go to the Mayo Clinic and see how they treat you and what they’re able to do
