The most common eye colors are brown, blue, and green, while less common colors include hazel, gray, and amber. There are even some unique eye colors such as pink, violet, or black, but usually, these eye colors are due to other diseases and conditions. The rarity of certain eye colors can also be influenced by genetic factors and the intermixing of populations over time. I have gray eyes that can look more blue at times. But I think the bright blue eyes that are very watery ocean like are beautiful.

I have the amber/high lipochrome variant of hazel, about 0.5% of people have it but I love how my eyes change in the light and I also have a very dark ring in the center as well as the outside green ring as is typical with hazel eyes. it creates a double ring separated by lipochromatic amber and I love it.

Question: My daughter's eyes were bright sky blue when she was born. They stayed that way til about 5yrs old. They were so blue, that the whites of her eyes appeared blue. But right around 5, they turned completely green. No one in our family has green eyes. Is this rare?

Um, what about rainbow eyes? Which btw are not literal rainbows, the term just means that the colors and/or patterns can change. I know for a fact that they are real because i have them and inherited them from my dad.

@SergioPerezF1-FanMy eyes change color depending on what I'm wearing and on the season. My eyes can be blue, green, gray, or hazel, even though most of the people in my family have brown eyes. The reason why I say my eyes are both hazel and blue most of the time is because me and my grandma (the only other person with blue eyes in my family) were both born with sunflower eyes (a type of inner eye heterochromia I think?) while mine were a bit of a light hazel, my grandma's were gold, like the color of an actual sunflower. And from my mom's mom, I inherited violet rims on my irises. So my eyes are a mess of colors.

@Potato_BloxxHey man, as someone who is a doctor - you should understand a bit better the term 'unique'. Unique is one of one, you cannot be very/slightly/super/etc one of one. You are unique, or you are not. It's a common thing in modern English these days, where people misuse the term.

@arnoldpillay3989My dad was an eye surgeon and he said the my girlfriend at the time had different colours at the back of each eye which was very rare. It was about 50 years ago so I can't remember exactly what he said, but that one of them was associated with black people.

I get asked all the time what color they are because they seem to shift, but not like hazel. My eyes look like the deep gray/green/blue of deep ocean. No brown or amber ever seen. Because I'm a redhead, people just assume they're dark green.
