The Queen's English or Received Pronunciation The difference between The Queen's English and RP Explained
I wonder when I get the chance to see Henry Charles again
The Queen's English or the King's English is defined as grammatically correct English, with good Vocabulary and style. Received pronunciation only focusses on the accent with which English is spoken.
Received pronunciation is often called Upper RP.
Don't stop teaching Sir
The Queens English is the language that should accomplany a posh English accent. Received pronunciation is how a posh English accent sounds. It is possible to speak the Queen's English with a chav accent.
The Queen's English may well include posh vocabulary but it is not necessary although correct vocabulary and good style are essential if you want to sound posh.

RP is a non-rhotic accent of English. Therefore, we do not pronounce /r/'s at the end of words and before consonants, except when the next word begins with a vowel and is pronounced without a pause, for example:
far /fɑː(r)/ + away /əˈweɪ/ = /ˌfɑːrəˈweɪ/
Good style requires good word order, good choice of words and grammar that leads to easily understandable and free flowing communication. If you really want to sound like a posh Upper Class Englishman, you need the posh upper rp accent, together with posh vocabulary, posh grammar and posh structures.

Hello sir. You have a soyft voice and lovely pacing to your speech.
Are you recording in the loo?
Good guru
@ukrover5087Time to put the vocabulary I use on my essays into my speech...this is going to be a pain in the arse.
But since you asked nicely I will like this video and subscribe 🤣
me opened this vid and went see other tab, heard his voice and thought like, 'wait did I play sort of a film or something'?
@WillBergsonSir, what if there is a highly educated man who keeps on speaking English in public or in formal situation with his unknown regional accent, thus making many people confused...? Can I say that the man fails in his education, or he should go to school again? As long as I know one of school's functions is to educate all people to speak well in front of many people, behave well, and speak in "good language" to show respect to people (a group of junior high schoolmasters from UK came into my class in 2007, one of them speaking English with Yorkshire dialect to my Indonesian-speaking students of English).
@desmorgens3120This guy creeps me out so much that I started to love him.
@verywrecked_stuffPoliteness à la Sir Humphrey Appleby ;)
@adogshair9332Is this guy on crack?
@bobbybill4042Does 'iswearenglish' sound in RP here?
@vicvic553Lol. Now I understand everything. Usually prefer to hear US English because it is somehow easier to understand than the English the British people speak. But that was music for my ears :)
@kirilpopov7888Loved it 🌸
@tulipacupuncture4020I wish I'd had you as a teacher :-)
Still trying to improve my english however !
Cheers from Italy !

@AcaiAcaciahave just discovered you. I think you are brilliant. very interesting and entertaining video.
@FJMLAMWow😮😮
@ziadmohamedgamal8395I really like your class!!! I have this idea of you a sort of headmaster like Dumbledore!
@FairyWeatherManI would give this well-spoken gentlemen the highest rating possible. I think that he may be an actor to speak so well. I didn't think that the queen's accent could sound that much different from the Received Pronunciation, and his explanation that it's the proper use of grammar, vocabulary, and not the accent that makes for a royal pronunciation. I also appreciated his explanation that the use of the King's (or Queen's) English was the desire of a person to wish to speak like royalty.
@burkewhbYou are one funny Redcoat. I like you. I am an American (Yankee), and I am quite confident that I could speak the Queen's English, complete with a "posh" R.P. accent, discernible only by the truest of Redcoats. This is quite a difficult task for most United States Americans to boast, as they often don't care for much outside of their protective cultural bubbles. But you, stranger, have enticed me to learn more about the true ancestors of the United States. You, sir, are a true gentleman and, dare I say, one of the last. I love you, and I wish you all the best in all of your dealings.
@88blackandwhite88I's have proffered if you had pointed out the pronunciation difference( vowel/consonant/ words/phrases et cetera instead of delving into posh /economic angle of dialects. I am an Indian and find my pronunciation to be in lineage from those days say 1850 when every vowel used to be pronounced.
@bhaskarbanerjee3520Aoww I thsay, Ducky, what have we heah ? A genu wine Brit speaking propah English. Pip pip ! An oooall that stuff, eh ?
@paulmasgalajian149King's English is the English spoken in law courts
@wesmatronI am seeing double.
@unclemunchAwfully good! Terribly good! Is it good or terrible? Is it awful or good? She needs some English lessons. Paradoxical words right next to eachother... What an idiot... :/
@richardbaker9782i really like him. he is hillarious yet clever on delivering the video. he sounds like saruman..
@ianthamalek4997Nice video!!
@mistymk5384Amazing, your lesson is well heard and received Sir..
@TheAnish01I liked your accent, but it was the beard that made me subscribe xD
@WallguardianWhat accent does Roger Scruton have?
@metatron4890When you ask in such a meticulously proper way, how can I resist?
@lydiafayre9806What accent do you speak in??
@reuben7090Thank you for the excellent video! Your explanation made perfect sense and made me decide to subscribe to your channel.
@5h1n53n9um1How would people react if you spoke with that accent in working class pub or in a neighborhood where travelers live?
@maninwater5615I gave this video a thumbs up because it's hard to not give a good rating to someone with such good manners (and such a magnificent beard)! But it would've been helpful to hear a demonstration of the differences between the queen's accent and the RP accent.
@midnightbeginningI love your video!
@cheryl4729Hi, i would appreciate if somebody can explain me the difference, i did not understand completely. Thanks!
