Is that really the Official Video? That’s about as rudimentary and pointless as any MTV video I’ve ever seen. I would have thought Sting would have insisted that it be more avant guard. The storyline doesn’t even match the lyrics, for one, and the idea of a stalker murdering a “rival” hasn’t really aged very well since domestic violence and stalking is taken seriously now whereas it used to be a sign of “true love” (eg “I’ll be watching you”.)
