The Personalities of Cain | Raising Cain
Video Overview & Insights
Before there was M. Night Shyamalan's Split, there was Brian De Palma's Raising Cain and John Lithgow's remarkably unhinged performance as the title character with multiple personalities. In this compilation we dissect each one and introduce you to Carter, Cain, Josh and Margo.

@azimfitri1879A great precursor to Split
@bmcfad12John could play a retired Pres. Washington in a movie with Kathy Bates ad wife Martha.
@buggy7104Dexter had no idea what he was confronting.
@solomoneagle1905Sound like transgender men.
@skichinski9836Brilliant film
@mithx_creatorThis is the closest we get to prime trinity
@Kris-l1u2qWhenever it came out to HBO when I was a kid in 1994 i saw it when Mom was gone. Came on HBO all day back then. I'm 46yrs old now I remember it was scary in one parts. Black kid upstate buffalo NY snowy winter seasons.
@StanfordArchaeologistThe subject of linking DID to violence was always controversial but John really helped to sell how distinct the personalities were and the struggle they faced, it's like Split before Split was a thing
@bananatiergodSplit was great but this movie in my opinion is better because itβs more psychological
@10tepeyacThe script was terrible but John made this movie a gem. Brilliant performer
@IconoclasticDissidentI haven't seen the movie but actors like Lithgow come once or twice for each generation. PS. ...guess I'm gonna watch it ...now! :) ... Thanks for sharing the trailer! :)
@2serveand2protectThis film is not bad. Itβs not like the critics would have you think.
@michealclark928Imo way better than Split
@magicalpasta54625:33 got curious everytime I watch this.....is the kid possessed or it's in Cain's head....?
@yuplusjinGreat film
@andygill9783John Lithgow was the one most perfect actor for this role.
@kbcinmedusnOf all Carter's other selves, the most terrifying one is undoubtedly Margo. Both Cain and Margo.are homicidal sociopaths but Margo is even more cold-blooded and devious than Cain -- she's like a shark in human form. The scenes in which Carter becomes Margo are chilling -- the refusal to speak, the minimal yet precise facial expressions and gestures and movements. Brrrrr...
@OreadNYCThis is why John Lithgow is one of the finest actors to grace the earth
@beebebceeMan I just love Raising Cain, it's like Psycho meets Peeping Tom.
@moviescinema958Reminds me of the movie Split
