00:00 Intro to Madrid travel vlog
Our visits to Madrid were better than her featured places or her words.
We just walked into the neighborhoods and observe them. Visited the local cafe, restaurants, local stores selling products made from nunneries, fish markets. None of them were tourist traps but for the locals.
Spanish foods are still too simple, except vegan places, as my partner says, their typical foods are a little too peasant-like. I agree from the international point of views.
We strolled to living quarters where the locals live and hung out, not where the tourists go. Much better to see real Madrid than scattered tourist places. Maybe good for once, but not for repeat visitors.
The palace was impossible to enter during the 2nd visit. With the waiting time was 2.5 hours from the church side to the grilled wall, halfway to the ticket office. No one went to the church in the other side and they have a better view, quieter.
Overtourism and pickpocket operationss at Soll square were major let down in 2024. Vs. previous visit in 2023 with ridiculous price gouging in hotel prices within a year.
Still, Madrid is decent to good destination for Stopovers. Still walkable.

Im from Madrid but Callao like Times Square ? Haha no way , Times is stunning, blow your mind first time you visit only compared with Shibuya or something like that . Callao is just a regular busy place of any city center . 😅

San Gines has recently opened 2 restaurants heer in the states. One in Austin Texas and one in Miami. I regularly visit the one in Austin and the churros are as good as those in Madrid. They also offer tapas and drinks.

Excelente video, felicidades
Gracias

We spend ten days in Spain, mainly Madrid, end of 2019. Just before Covid hit! This video brought back A LOT of memories. Thanks for sharing.
@AfricanSunProductionsSpanish cuisine has got nothing on Mexican 🇲🇽🌯🫔🌮cuisine 🎩
@HughJanus-f2lI'm a Spaniard and I can truly say this video does show some of the best food we have. She showed stuff other Youtubers never show or even think of focusing on when in Spain. Kudos to your channel. I subbed you.
@DD__suggestionsso American lol
@k8virly2009For Principe Pio / Temple of debod do we have to queue up ?
@bharatagarwal33Hello, as a madrileño, let me tell you that the comparison with Barcelona metro wasn't fair, there are only 5 metro stations from Retiro to Principe Pío, where the Templo de Debod is. You will spend 10/15 min to get there. Not as bad as you said.
Yea and the blatant racism they show towards east asians😂

@MADDIECATTIE-t9hGreat tips. And great video! Visiting in two weeks. Have taken notes.
@kenbroadbent7288It was Carlos III who opened Retiro Park to the public in 1768. A century later, in 1868, a revolution dethroned Isabel II, and ownership of the park was transferred to the Madrid City Council. So the park has been open to the public since 1768 — several years before the United States even existed.
@robert111khey. can you drink wine in public? like in the park?
@DKgabsLove the videos!! But the vocal fry on the commentary is nauseating, sorry. Omit the vocal fry and you're on to a winner👍
@mcguckinIm guessing its impossible to be vegetarian there
@inkstainedgirlI loved your video! You perfectly captured the essence, beauty, and way of life in Madrid. But Madrid is not just the city—it’s a vast metropolis. I encourage you to explore the region and its surroundings: Chinchón, Aranjuez, El Escorial, and the villages of the Sierra. And beyond that, Toledo, Segovia, Ávila, and Pedraza. Welcome, everyone, to the best city in the world!
@Sector107Thank you for this guide!
@JanekAllanYou eat too much
@alijannati1Did you walk from city to city or did you use a bus?
@ItsMary31Thanks so much for this detailed video! One of the best that I’ve seen for Madrid. I visited in 2018 and plan to return this summer. The map that you kept referring to with all of the sites to see, where can I find that? I’m also going to check out Get Your Guide! Thanks again!
@armilton01I have been there, and Madrid is full of pickpockets and scammers.
