This comment doesn't justify how this ended... but do think the kids were part of the problem & probably did things to trigger her. I live in a compelx with kids and they are ANNOYING... ALWAYS in the roads... kicking balls near cars... unsupervised...I can go on and on...I just sigh and read the community board.

I am currently finishing the documentary and seeing the comments from everyone is interesting. It seems to be very 50/50. Some people think that the children were in the wrong, antagonising the old lady and that it was their fault, meanwhile others believe that the lady should've moved out or just reduced the kids playing to just background noise.

In my opinion, I believe that it was the woman's fault 100%. The reason is simple. Why does the neighbourhood hate her specifically? Its not just the kids with this specific attitude, it is also the adults. What kind of "innocent" human is hated by everyone? Even the police were never on her side, but realistically they couldn't do much in the first place. Can't really arrest her because of word of mouth and vice versa.

Kids operate on a very simple wavelength. They see that a person is a bitch, so they are going to be nuisances back. If you were not like this as a kid then you were and are very boring. The difference between a lot of elders is that they realise that if they don't give the kids any attention, then the kids will get bored of them and would stop the antagonising.

Why would the mom go over there? After the police told her that they couldn’t trespass. No excuse for her killing her but she should of listened. Very sad.

I blame the cops for not arresting her easier for calling 911 for non emergencies. The audacity of this lady to harass kids playing in a field that is not hers. She said she was a doctor, yet living in where she was.

We lived next door to a neighbor this unhinged, a true psychopath. He blew air horns, he had many guns and would shoot them when my husband was on the roof making a repair, I believe in the hopes that he would fall. He would come onto our property when we were not around and let the air out of our tires. He threatened to @&$@ us up. He tried backing into me when I was on my property while his wife filmed it, he sabotaged public meetings where my husband and I were honored, blaring profanity while the speech was being made. We had a dump truck parked, and he let one of the pins out of the tail gate so that the tail gate almost dropped on my husband and could have killed him. He vandalized our property in many other ways. Despite a restraining order from the judge, the local law enforcement was unwilling to enforce the court order and was protecting their buddy. I once witnessed a girl fleeing his property late at night on foot. (We lived several miles out of town.) We were forced out of our home. Within a month after we moved, he listed his house for sale. Unable to sell it, he moved out, and while it remained vacant, he was seen by neighbors coming back to the house and spending hours in the pole building he had. When a neighbor finally decided to go check on him after hours of being in that supposedly empty pole building, he emerged, jumped in his truck, and took off before the neighbor could make it across her yard to his driveway.

I lived next door to a woman who thought the police were her personal service calling them constantly, exaggerating and making things up about her neighbours, including me. She had some kind of paranoia issues and thought we were all out to get her. She received a police caution eventually for wasting police time. When she left we all sighed a deep breath of relief.

This doc is a total failure. Just like it depicts a total failure. Failure of the american police, failure of health services, social services, education, housing. Everything. Trying to make this about racism is just dumb. I guess it shows this too....that we just reward dumb anaylses now instead of deeper insight.

Whilst I categorically state that she should never have shot anyone, and that I believe she certainly deserved her sentence, I do feel that parents should hold responsibility for how their children may impact others.

I am an older woman who lives alone and whilst I love children (I am actually an elementary school teacher), I look forward to the peace and tranquility of my own home. It's easy to tell that these children are good kids but, whilst they're on the other side of the road, their parents are getting a break from the noise that is inherent with children playing. Instead, this woman is having to live with the constant and intrusive racket of someone else's children.

My next door neighbor has a lot of young grandchildren and I dread those days when they visit on a weekend because they end up playing for hours on the other side of our fence, within a few feet of where I'm trying to read and relax. Children are children and don't necessarily understand how noisy they can be. That's where the parents should come in but, mostly, they don't. They're used to it, so don't think anyone else would have a problem but they also get the love and laughter that comes from being with their children. Their neighbor just gets the noise.

I noted that one of the neighbor fathers being interviewed laughingly admitted to 'ding dong ditching' as a child and clearly tolerated that act with his own children. My front door is very close to the footpath and I am regularly the target of this prank which is obviously irritating at any point.

Sometimes, the timing can be appalling. I remember some young teenagers doing this whilst I was with a friend planning her mother's funeral. Gales of laughter from outside, but only tears inside. That is a worst case scenario but the victim could be trying to get a young or sick child to sleep or maybe studying for an important exam. It's always annoying and one knows that any reaction will only result in a repeat of this behavior.

So, I'm not trying to excuse this woman's actions but I spent much of the documentary unwittingly relating to her frustration, especially as it clearly continued over a period of several years. She obviously handled it the wrong way, especially in the end, but those parents should have asked their children to be a bit more considerate when playing so closely to her home when she had made it clear that she found the noise upsetting.

No trail needed. This lady is a disgusting racist, she doesn’t need to see the light of day again.
