This line is the biggest tip for support players. If you stand out of sight all the times, you can healbot big numbers, but you are fighting against yourself.
When you expose yourself to the enemy you can do damage and take pressure off your team.
More damage = less healing your team = even more damage = repeat
Sleep and nade also multiply this effect by taking off even more pressure

My only issue with low rank when playing Ana. Her healing isn't as insane as others and because of that I always get called out for not having 10k healing. Even though I watch them walk out and die or have bad placement. It's the main reason why I just stick with 6v6 since I'm in plat and people understand that.

i feel like in lower ranks, my teammates generally take more damage (likely becaause of bad positioning), therefore i need to be healing them more to keep them alive. i find myself in situations where i am the last one to stay alive after a lost team match or our dps dying so much that we are basically going 3v5 most of the match

Can't play ranked support without getting verbally berated by every team I'm on

It feels like a lot of this advice is good only if you're playing in higher ranks. For example "use your cooldowns as often as you can" is only good advice if you have a team that can reliably protect you when you get dived. So this is not helpful advice for anyone in quickplay or gold and below that doesn't play with a group.

Edit: After a mere 4 days, I've come to the realization that if you're dying as Ana, it's probably a positioning problem no matter what. You can only blame your teammates for one of your deaths. After that, it's on you to adjust accordingly to how they're playing. This is a fantastic guide.

Time to climb back into masters. I took a break form ow bc of real life duties and am hard stuck plat now, hahah. It's hard down there... But imma start throwing nades again, because why not!

I’m pretty terrible at OW, but I’ve ranked up to diamond on Ana by just focusing the enemy tank with sleep and nade when they move in. The trouble is I’ll often get gold - diamond lobbies. So I’m playing with the same people anyway 😂

Just a consideration... support is the less impactfull of the three roles. This is a diamond lobby. We have the RANK 1 support.
If we had the rank 1 dps or tank probably this game would have been a complete steamroll.. while with the rank 1 sup it was almost a tie...

unless you're trying to save a player who climbs in and takes constant damage.Then this guy writes that you're bad.and this is from battle to battle, and then there may also be a ban.

Another huge benefit of off angling is having a clear path for your nades. Standing behind your tank and other teammates you will undoubtedly go to toss a nade and hit one of your teammates instead of its intended target.

“If I wanted to get GM on Ana this is what I would do” is such a bad title someone should be fired. Whatever option you had before was better, unless you’re trying to make a title so bad that people comment to complain about it.
