The New Siri is... Google (Explained)

Video Overview & Insights

Siri by Google. Makes you think.

Apple preaches about how privacy is built into everything, but they’re partnering with the company that is the one company you never want your data near.

After years of carefully evaluating innovation, user experience, and what actually feels smart — I’m excited to announce that this fall, I may finally upgrade to a Google Pixel

Well shit …. They better add split screen multitasking or I’m out ..

I mean Samsung is going to pass them in AI if they don't drop their ego and work with one of the best and tested software and AI companies in US.

Did anyone consider that this is a gift to apple, from google, for the new text partnership?

Don't every other company make apples stuff anyway 😅..

If a company is valued as a "tech" firm, it must do more than just provide a pretty interface. Today, many companies only offer a UI, but the real winners are those who build the underlying infrastructure.

Whoever has the best AI features will get my money.

All in all : we have no choices to use what we prefer. All searches through google ( not Gemini) or Siri- Give us nothing but more typing. Idc about the tech.

Ah…! This was really lovely. The mention of Google paying Apple to remain as the default serach engine did bring back old memories. And, does the AI factor really matter for my next phone? Yes, of course it does. I’m currently addicted to Circle To Serach and I don’t want to part ways with it. Cheers mate!!!

Imagine if Apple would’ve worked on AI instead of a $3000 headset.

Every few years, I give iPhone a shot. Within a week or two, I find myself going back to Pixel or some other Android device. iPhone always lacked with Siri, then came lackluster Apple Intelligence. Google Assistant and Gemini blows Apple out of the water. Apple has yet to feel like a smart phone to me.

Nothing is better than Google Pixel, but Google dropped the ball with Pixel lacking in the processing arena. Pixel isn't heavy duty, so certain apps for video and editing stall and kick me out. Google gets a powerful chip to match Apple, and it's over for Apple. Google's only weakness is their failure to appeal to content creators, other creatives and gammers. A powerful chip will change all of that. Apple's best bet is to do what they did with their Mac products years ago, work with software companies to make their devices more appealing and tech relevant outside of content creation. iPhone will be a legit force to reckon with beyond branding and content creation with software support from Google.

To be honest am very excited by this news I was putting in a situation where I needed to use an android for almost the whole year and I miss my iPhone and it features a lot the one thing I didn’t miss was Siri google Gemini is just so much better and so many way I finally came back to an iPhone and I can honestly say Gemini is the one thing that I missed from android

Long time watcher, just subscribed! Love your videos! - My humble opinion: I am happy they did this partnership. I do NOT see this as a bad thing for APPLE. On the contrary, it takes a large level of maturity to admit you need help. From a user's POV, we know there is no one perfect company. That is just a fact; no one. (It doesn't exist and will never exist.) That said, Apple users, now seeing this partnership, can be confident that the "powers that be" (i.e.: those making these higher up decisions) are doing everything they possibly can to maintain a high standard for their brand while ensuring that their users do not "miss out" on cool stuff. Yes partly because its a business and they need money but that eventually works its way down to the users benefit, right? Also that deal they did with trump to ensure iPhones don't double in price due to tariffs is another example proving my thesis. (I don't know if that is true but its what i heard.) - That all said, at risk of not sounding all "fanboy" (though i admittedly of am) I absolutely hate the delays. "Its coming this year!" "Wait, no, its coming next year!" "We finally got it! Wait, no, it sucks! WTH??" lol - yes... i hate those moments...

Came here to complain about Siri not looking something up for me because I’m driving… like wtf?! THATS WHY IM ASKING YOU! I can just do it myself when I’m done driving so why even bother?! It’s stupid and useless. (I made this when I parked btw)
I asked what song was playing for Alisa Lius performance at the Winter Olympics and Siri responds with “I can look that up when you’re done driving” like don’t bother I can just do it myself by then you’re useless to me Siri.

Good question: ‘how much do ~different manifestations of ai factor into my tech choices’? I actually Don’t THINK much at all. I ‘TYPICALLY’ Prefer Google, but I’d been on iPhone: Solely for YEARS now.

I Still have a Cr-48, that Works!!

Gemini AI Plus and Advanced cost extra after the free introductory period. Both Pixel and iPhones can use the basic Gemini for free. Google Pixel phones also use Google Assistant as the voice interface for Gemini. So there is still a lot of work to go.

नमस्कार सर

Honestly? The AI drive holds little interest to me overall and I wish that Apple would instead put more resources into fix ongoing OS issues across their platforms.

I am going to see how good the Gemini/Siri integration is and will be updating my phone and watch when the new devices are released this year. However, I have been blown away by the Gemini app on iOS and am seriously tempted to switch to a Pixel phone and watch. If I didn't work for a certain fruit-based company I would of switched already!

Steve implemented the virtual assistant concept of siri in 2011 and yet apple has not invested and focused enough on Steve's vision for 15 years.
They could have been ahead of everyone else by so much, but instead, they are lagging behind.

@luntun-qb5zu

So much for my privacy. Just when I am removing all Google related software from all my devices, Apple does this crap.

@tladoux
@

Everyone’s talking about how AI assistants like Siri will book holidays and perform tasks. But the harder problem is safety when the AI is unsure.

What if assistants used a simple visible safety ladder — Green (normal), Amber (attention), Red (high risk), Purple (stop/contain) — similar to traffic signals?

Instead of hidden disclaimers, the system could change the whole screen colour when risk increases.

@stevengordon75

This is what they always do… they partner with or buy 3rd party companies and then pretend it’s their innovation

Google Assistant is just too intrusive for my liking.

I use Gemini quite often for aquiring information which is in a logical way reduced but still permissable...

Do people really just be jumping back and forth from android to apple? I couldn’t imagine I’ve had iPhone since 2012.

Apple coming in hot with another AI cop out isn’t that surprising tho.

@WBTat2

I thought I was going crazy when Apple said my phone did all these things that I never got. One of them was I would be able to describe an image or video in my photos app and it will take me to it instead of searching for it for an hour.

Hey @MKBHD, why is Apple still ignoring 80 million Kurdish speakers in 2026? Digital inclusion should be for everyone.

The new Siri to my understanding is OpenAI’s ChatGPT and/or Google Gemini whether or not it is the free accounts or the tiers of upgrades. The Apple device chipset being the major limiter among other limiters like carrier and geolocation for signal and bandwidth.

I’m torn: iPhone 17 Pro or S26 Ultra? 📱 I’m starting a business later this year and need the best AI for complex voice tasks and productivity.
Samsung has DeX (huge for business), but the Apple ecosystem is tempting for ease of use. Since my smart home is on Matter, compatibility isn't an issue. Which one is actually better for running a business day-to-day in 2026 starting the end of 2026? Or wait? Maybe the Iphone18 pro?
