The Most STUPID Grand Canyon Deaths Ever Recorded

Video Overview & Insights

Hello! My name is Patrick, and I’ll be sharing real stories of the most stupid deaths in Grand Canyon ever recorded. Watch until the end to see what happens to them. Enjoy watching!

Well one things for sure: the carelessness (& foolishness) of the deceased resulted in canyon authorities placing necessary warning signage for subsequent guests! 😵‍💫

There are rules about the Grand Canyon.You can get killed very easily.You need to obey the rules.There's certain places you can't go to

The less sure of footing, balance, or stabilty, the more sure of gravity.

0:28. That's NOT the Grand Canyon, that's Glen Canyon Dam, Lake Powell.

Notice he said "No repelling signage in that area". This suggests his family must have used. So I guess we have to have signs that read "Don't tie your rope to a dead tree and jump over the side'
"Approaching a ram"? I had a pet goat that used to attack me everytime I went in her paddock. No I would never approach a wild ram.

I’m sympathetic to the postal worker. That was a tough break. The flash flood victim not sure. The other ones, yea stupid totally. Especially the ram lady. That’s not a house cat.

I had a girl friend years ago who I had to restrain to keep her from picking up rattlesnakes and in another location from petting a buffalo. She also hung out over a 400' waterfall holding on to a 1/2" diameter root. She just lacked the gene(s) to make her wary. Years after we split she would be struck by a rattlesnake she picked up and mauled by dogs.

What’s the constant here? ALL of these deaths were completely avoidable

At 2:53 that is a picture of Canyonlands in Moab Utah...what the hell has that got to do with the Grand Canyon story? Get your act together.

And the park continues to create signage where someone does something stupid. Sometimes you can't fix stupid. I feel terrible for those that had to witness those deaths or recover the bodies.

There are NPS documents of all the incidents in Grand Canyon National Park going back to the 80s. These stories are not listed

These videos are great yet, hardly ever, do the pictures and narrative match. Also note how often the "climbers" change clothes, miraculously.

When I visited the Grans Canyon I didn't want any part of it. I felt I really didn't want to be near it.

Horrific ways to die. I can't imagine what those first few seconds were like plummeting and hitting jagged rock on your way down. I was down there this past weekend and couldn't believe the people climbing out on the edge like they themselves command the elements. No brain cells. The thing is that younger and/or more inexperienced people see that behavior and think, "Everybody does it. They didn't get hurt, so therefore I won't either". Don't be so stupid as to think you can take on the Grand Canyon and come out the victor.

Each and every one of these events is worthy of a Darwin Award.

Why are we getting medical reports from people that we know fell hundreds of feet? Do they think we think maybe they were murdered by knife before they hit the ground? Maybe someone shot them with an arrow? A gun? Maybe the were hit by a car? Why?

@jasonring5231

That is a colorized picture of thank God ledge on Halfdome in Yosemite, not grand canyon!!!

Nobody tell TRUMP bout these deaths, first 2 he might try charging hundreds of thousands in federal land damage fees to their family. Try n garnish any insurance they may have had. 1st guy damaged, how many years old limestone? 2nd guy uprooted an ancient tree. Geez ppl, just stay on the trails.

My takeaway from this video... "Nature has no sympathy for stupidity."

@nuffflavor

One thing my family can bank on I will never die by falling from standing on any edge that has height, if I do, it was murder. You would have to drag me to a place that has heights.

I would at least like to see the last moment before they fell.someone has to have that photo! I'm sure there was a few people with their phones out!

Re-watch this video and listen for when guardrails and signage it put in place... it's AFTER someone lost their life! Think about Ingrid and the video she was making for her grandchildren. "The rams look gentle and don't let ANYONE tell you different!". Sounds like a case of Oppositional Defiant Disorder to me, lol. Well, the "gentle ram" knocked her off the canyon to her de*th. There's a reason why guardrails are placed on the safe part of the road. It's because if they're placed in the ditch you've already crashed before you've reached them. Don't feed the bears MEANS don't FEED the BEARS!!

And the Darwin awards go to..!!!..

Story One: Did they yell weeeee on the way down? But at least phone was safe
Story Two: Ditto story one, without phone
Story Three: Ram Jam, nice last video for Grandchildren
Story Four: Hot pocket Phoebe
Story Five: Wife 's phone call, "My dumbass husband knows everything but is lost. Help him."
Story Six: Woman studies sedenmentary deposits, then becomes sedenmentary deposit.

Which one is your favorite? I liked story 3: Ram Jam
