the 11% annual purchasing power erosion number around the 1:41:00 mark is the one that should permanently change how you think about "doing nothing." 8% currency debasement plus 3% inflation means your cash savings are losing purchasing power at 11% a year. the S&P 500 returns about 10-11% a year. those two numbers cancel out entirely. you're taking on equity risk for a net real return of effectively zero against a debasing dollar. that's not investing, that's a treadmill. Raoul's framing that there are only two real bets — technology and crypto — isn't extreme maximalism, it's just the logical conclusion of doing that math honestly. Bitcoin at 145% CAGR since 2011 even with three 80% drawdowns isn't a speculation, it's the only asset that's actually winning the debasement race by a meaningful margin
