Warren Buffet said find an index fund that has intrinsic value and keep buying, don't sell, no matter what the market does. He never said buy when it goes down and sell when it goes high; he specifically said trying to time the market was a mistake.

For me the greatest question is when to sell, imagine you are one of the people who bought A&P at $36, when and how do you sell before it gets to $705, nobody can look a +2000% return and not selling something 😅.

This video explains very clearly the concept of 'Mr. Market' and the principle of not letting the market control an investor's emotions. What I find interesting is that while in Benjamin Graham's time, Mr. Market might only knock on your door every morning to quote a price, in today's digital age, he constantly knocks every second through phone app notifications, making the psychological pressure and trading temptations much heavier. Reading further into Morgan Housel's book 'The Psychology of Money', I found this point expanded upon in the sense that financial success is not actually about intelligence or exceptional valuation skills, but depends entirely on the soft skill of managing behavior and suppressing the ego to survive through panics. Has anyone read that book?
