I spent many hours as a kid trying to build drumming skills, but now I think I am done trying to learn drums, but this was still a great idea.
Matt is great at creating variety and sustaining the intensity.
I cannot see Matt drawing inspiration from jazz, however, not even from Tony Williams.
I wish you had done "Fell on Black Days".

@snorgisborg2Something not even talked about that he's doing is something that can't be taught or measured....A strong John Bohnham influence as well.....He's dragging notes and quick stepping others....basiclally flexing notes periodically and that's why some drummers and their bands are so good compared to others....

@Rockingvideos42dude that snare drum ... STAINLESS STEEL 7" DEEP 14 inch!! You definitely hear that on the album. It has a VERY unique tone and sound. Id like to hear that snare beside Lars Ulrichs 14x6.5" diamond plate snare!

@SwissAdventureRiderSoundgarden was a band where the members were all technically proficient, talented, gifted, precise, and special and yet, they produced songs that were all organically, natural, beautiful gems that were far far greater than the sum of the individual parts that comprised them. Doesn't a day go by where I don't listen to them.
