Not once has my family ever served dinner rolls at thanksgiving. But every girl I’ve ever brought home for the holidays has scolded me for not having rolls. Maybe I’m the only one who thinks there’s already an ample supply of carbs at Thanksgiving, but maybe I’m wrong, so today we’re making some extraordinary fresh dinner rolls that anyone can make served of course with fresh homemade honey butter.

I made these and they were delicious!

Bakers weight ingredients for consistency reasons. The product will never be the same without weighing...

I make about 500 rolls every day and this is a very good recipe, but your method for making the balls had me psychotically angry. :)

THE BEST DINNER ROLLS
In a mixing bowl
(dry ingredients)
3 1/2 cup AP flour
1 pkt instant yeast
1 tsp salt
Whisk dry ingredient together
In separate bowl
(wet ingredients)
4 Tbs butter (room temp)
1 egg (room temp)
1 cup milk (100°-110°)
1/4 cup sugar
Mix milk, egg and sugar together.
Slowly, gradually add liquid to dry ingredients adding butter
1 Tbs at a time. Medium speed until dough pulls away from the sides of bowl. Knead dough for 8-10 minutes.
Place dough in a greased bowl and cover, let rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until double in size. Punch down and on a lightly floured surface shape into rectangle. Cut into 12 pieces, weighting 2 1/4 ozs each. Shape into round balls. Place into 9x13 greased pan, cover, let rise 2nd time until they double in size.
Preheat oven to 375°
After rolls have doubled brush tops with egg wash.
Bake for 20-25 minutes rotating half way through until golden brown. Brush tops with butter as soon as they are taken out of the oven. Top with flakey sea salt.

We watch the whole vid to find out we have to go pay $15 for the recipe. No. Nope. Not happening.

And believe me, I get its a marketing move. We all gotta make a living, but this is the first and last of your recipes I check out

I tired this and it turned out just awful. The dough was just super sticky and barely even rose after sitting for 3 hours. I used the same yeast packet as him!

Can I make them into 9 instead of 12? For a jumbo roll?

Thanks for this recipe. These were amazing. If I wanted to sub honey for sugar in the dough recipe, would I need to add extra flour to adjust for the additional liquid?

Is it reliable to make the dough a day ahead of time for a cold ferment that also saves time the day of?
