Sorry to be a bit picky, but your version of football history is flawed, very flawed. About 100 years(1700-1750) before your claim universities in southern England(1840) started the game that became football, miners in the northeast of England(Durham and Northumberland) at the end of their shifts would come above ground and play football. This was due to intense chest tightness and having spent hours in cramped conditions. The miners needed to clear their lungs and stretchbtheir mussles, it was a physical necessity.
