Good video but you didn't cover how the rules actually changed. Goal keepers used to be able to touch the ball with hands on their side of the half line. Their entire half! And other such odd rules that slowly changed to the modern game we know.

SOCCER NOT FOOTBALL, American football was already named before the world started calling the game that. IT'S SOCCER

2 million migrant workers...go ahead say what you really mean to.
@ynkybomberI remember Maradona punching that ball, that was a noisy night in England 😂
@mysticalmaidPosh men living in England made basic rules was a glorified game of kick- and-chance until they saw how they played in Scotland.
Hence ‘Internationals,’,’ for both men and women, the Corinthians, ‘Scotch Professors’ the ideas for turnstiled stadiums, national stadiums, technical areas ( ‘dugouts’,), founding the English League ( and starting the current Champions- of it,) the first football star who also longest serving chair of the FA etc. Although later the FA wrote Andrew Watson out of history for over a century- he was the first black player, captain and international captain.
Kept it alive and growing.
ignoring the facts, Modern footbal was Scottish in origin, Sheffield was began by Scottish workers who had moved from Scotland to work in the steel mills pits ect: England invented nothing but Colonialism. they wrote these lies as if fitba was their game. cultural appropriation writ large.
@tomorourke5270Aaaah 2014 - the good old times. Will never forget this great world cup ❤
@martinwallroth6208This was very informative, more than I thought. Thanks
@TheCrazierzBefore all of these precursors was Ulama, the MesoAmerican ballgame of the Olmecs, Mayans, Aztecs, and others.
@pachucotiriliThis is nonsense.
@jamesmacdonald2886The first game of rugby football played in New Zealand at Nelson College in1879
@philipgolding3672There are no 'British Isles' dh. There is Britain and there is Ireland. Do not use that term it is colonial and offensive.
@TineBeo🤔Scotland played the modern version of football, and the first unofficial world cup was won by a Scottish team
@angussoutter7824You forgot to mention that the Aztecs were playing their traditional ball game called Ullamalitzli throughout the entire duration of their empire from about 1325 until 1521. They inherited the game from Mesoamerican cultures that had been playing versions of it since at least 1600 BCE, and their game didn't ended just in a brawl between opposite villages, the defeated team was offered as sacrifice to the god Huitzilopochtli to keep the natural cicle of day and night going.
@effingclexiss1337Sorry to be a bit picky, but your version of football history is flawed, very flawed. About 100 years(1700-1750) before your claim universities in southern England(1840) started the game that became football, miners in the northeast of England(Durham and Northumberland) at the end of their shifts would come above ground and play football. This was due to intense chest tightness and having spent hours in cramped conditions. The miners needed to clear their lungs and stretchbtheir mussles, it was a physical necessity.
I struggle to understand how you missed this because it is a very well documented and known fact of football origins here in the uk.
TOTAL CRAP!!!!!!!
@williamdom3814What a load of nonsense. Not one reference to the 'Scottish Professors' that took the combination team passing game to England who were playing an individual running with the ball and individualism.
@douglasthomson7673Interesting that the corruption and human rights abuse in Russia and Qatar get a mention, but arguably the worst place in the world to host a global event - the US - doesn't get described this way???
Oh, dear...
How do you not mention that the First World Cup to be held in the nation that created football, was won by the home side, England? 🤦🏻♂️
@zacsayer1818Nice. One thing I'd add is that according to Caesar the ancient Belgians used to play a form of football with the decapitated heads of enemies. As a religious rite following combat. And allegedly that was later the reason for the ovoid shape of the rugby ball. It's a stylized severed head.
@PoliticallycorrectRedskinYou're missing about 1000 years of British football while it developed slowly into what it is today
@davidz2690You didn’t mention that originally a slang term for football in England was soccer that is where the North American name came from in Canada to not confuse it with the game that would be called football in North America which was first played in Canada
@jayperson2081Absolutely ZERO mention of Calcio in Italy dating back more than 500 years. this just buys into the (totally false) British narrative that they invented football.
@peterwick4198This is largely shit
@bobcobbler9661Nottingham team Notts county help start Juventus hence June playing in black and white stripes
@haydnj1202Football ... a game played with your FEET and a round BALL ... that is why its called Foot-Ball.
Rugby and Grid Iron ... a game played with an oval pouch, that you constantly throw - catch - hold ...
It is NOT a BALL Game.
2026 CANADA- USA-Mexico
@DORIANoFILMSI wish India and Pakistan (and South Asian countries) had adopted a strong soccer culture instead of cricket, Asia feels underrepresented in such a global sport
@finnrobertson2592Just asking here, are we going to talk about all the issues with the US playing host (support of genocide, wars, corruption, racism, etc etc, the same way we talked about Qatar or is it Qatar the exception?
@KingmomoeBlasphemy!! England created the game all others are pretenders!!!
@kevinthekev1979Arsenal are England’s 2026 champions! COYG! ❤
@thesalandarian33141954 is such a sad case of western german doping, but politics is politics, sadly always will be in football
