If athletes from African countries were paid more like these people,, that whole Olympic medal list would be very different, I've noticed Americans were paid more it's why they're up there,, if my country Kenya 🇰🇪 would implement those payments, you wouldn't even see our tail

We know that it's gonna be dominated by basketball, tennis and golf since they're the only sports with huge audience outside Olympics where the top players in those sports also compete in Olympics

As echoed by other commenters, this list would be more interesting if the athletes highlighted became famous, and therefore rich, because of their Olympic success, not because of their professional league earnings. The Usain Bolts, Simone Biles, Michael Phelps and Michelle Kwans of the world.

I wish track publicized earnings but then these companies would have to pay more and they don’t wanna do that

They should have had non-professional basketball and tennis players instead of athletes at the NBA, ATP, WTA etc.

Focus should be more on TRADITIONAL track and field. Basketball, tennis have a whole eco-system outside of the Olympics. So does women's soccer (the main senior national teams are competing).
